Anyone experiencing intermittent buzzing sound from this PSU?

I was using Seasonic for all my previous system all no sounds leh... This one keep giving out intermittent buzzing like got housefly stuck inside.

Exchange with my supplier already but still same... Is the normal?

Coil whine is it? Not supposed to be there.

Not sure leh... Cause is intermittent.

Notice that during cpu high load the buzzing sounds would be louder.

I had the same problem a year back and went back to PC theme to change a new one. After which, no problem since then.

Just exchange with my supplier. Not as loud but still giving out noise.

Would this happens if overload?

Unless your PSU is rated silent i think a slight noise is more than tolerable, hehe..

on load then got sound, no load no sound. i think is coil whine.

Very weird mah.. First time get this kinda PSU. As and when it like will start buzzzzzzz. After awhile stop then comes back again Lol.

Ever wonder why such issues never happened in the older days?

Yes, every inductor (coil) and transformer resonate during operation and thus emit unavoidable vibrating/whining noises as a result.

In the older days, manufacturer will hold/strenghtened the coil/transformer using non-conductive wax/glue to prevent them from vibrating. But none use them nowadays due to high labour cost because waxing/glue are manual works, you can't automate this kind of operation.

actually there are pple online who wax/glue the coils/choke to stop the whine. the problem is that will void yr warranty
I wouldnt recommend it though

Think I would let it moan as much as it wants hehe.. Dont wanna void the good 7 years warranty
