Fujitdu UH-X question... battery

Hi I just got myself a Fujitsu UH-X i7. Have a few questions as this is the 1st time I am using this brand.

(1) My laptop's battery indicator is not lighted when I am charging it for the 1st time (the company I bought this from told me to charge it for 8 hours for the 1st charge. FYI, my laptop's battery already shows that it is 90% charged when I tool it out of the box). I read the manual, and it says the battery indicator is suppose to be lit when charging. Is this correct?

(2) After leaving it overnight to charge, the maximim it will charge is 90%. Is this normal?

Where you buy from? Current laptop no need to do 8 hour charge. Only need to plug in and initialise and charge to full. You should be able to charge to 100%.

If you’re interested in getting more technical info about your battery usage and estimated capacity, you can use the Powerfg command-line option that’s built into Windows 11 to generate a battery report.

1. Select Search on the taskbar, type Command prompt, press and hold (or right-click) Command prompt, and then select Run as administrator > Yes.
2. At the command prompt, type powercfg /batteryreport, then press Enter.
   
   The battery report will be an HTML file that’s stored in a folder on your PC. The file location will be shown in the Command Prompt window.
3. Open File Explorer, go to the folder that the report was saved to, and then double-click the battery report (HTML file) to open it in your web browser.
   You can get a lot of detailed info about your battery usage and capacity. Some particular sections you might want to look at to get started include the following: Installed battery, Recent usage, and Battery usage.

Hi, thanks for your info.. I generated a report and it says 90% - 58mWh (the full battery capacity is 64mWh I think)

I just managed to check with the seller and they said battery charging to 90% is normal.. the system will cut off once it reaches the minimum of the battery and will not overcharges. ... .. I also did a search online to check if this is true and it seems like all new laptops sold these days have this built in for safety purposes... not sure if other laptop models also the same or is it only Fujitsu.. hmm.

I have that model and can charge to 100%. Is it new? I think there is a setting to protect the battery and it will not charge to full. Check if that is on? If not it should charge to 100%. Sorry i have sold my set. So cannot check that setting.

check how many charge cycles this laptop already been charged. can google n how check this. I am thinking the laptop might not be first hand when sold to you.

Should be fine? I'm just trying to figure out how to turn it back so I can charge 100% if I want to.

I have the 11th gen of this model.
If you are on Windows 11:
Go to Settings>Scroll down at the left panel and click Extras(This is the Fujitsu's app)> Click on battery utility> Click on battery charge mode
Make sure it is at "full charge mode"

Thanks! It is on full charge mode as per your steps. Not sure why before I use the laptop, when I charge it overnight, it went just to 90%. Today, when I charge when I am using it, it charged to 100%. Is this something to be concerned about?

But I just called Fujitsu official service centre, which directed me to Lenovo (they said this was bought over or taken over by Lenovo and the service and warranty is with Lenovo). The IT helpdesk told me it is normal as the system is just trying to optimise my battery. Apparently, this is a default in some Lenovo laptops too.. hmm..

I have the 11th Gen model and confirm this to be true as well. On some days it will stop charging at 90+ but after using and charging again it does go back to a 100.

Lenovo has bought the Fujitsu PC business a while ago, so it makes sense to let them handle the service and warranty. Good thing they still Fujitsu handle and design their PCs and Laptops however haha. Some of the other parts are shared but labeled differently like the slim charger.
