Hello Japan travel sifus

For my upcoming trip, planning to get on a highway bus after landing.
The main concern is that there is only an hour between landing time, collect luggage and bus departure time, so really not sure if I can catch the bus. And if not, what will happen to the pre-paid tickets?

Appreciate if you can share your experience.

Thanks in advance

Sorry, I never miss my bus. But I think if you miss the bus, your ticket becomes invalid. You can try to buy ticket at the counter for the next bus or maybe with counter staff.

I recall I took less than 1 hour collect my luggage. Like around 45min. When SQ reach fukuoka in the morning, there were other flights arriving too. 2 from vietnam, 1 thailand and 1 south korea.

Suggest doing research on what happens when missing bus or consider buying on arrival. What's the bus frequency?

Forfeit, I suppose ... Also considering to buy on arrival, will be monitoring the demand of the bus... The next bus will be 1 hour later, not so bad I suppose but the international terminal is rather lacking in amenities

I presume the SQ flight is scheduled to reach Fukuoka at 0820 hr. For my trip last year, I can't recall if my flight landed earlier or was delayed but I recall clearing the customs within 30-45 minutes; it should be a bit better now as the airport renovations are more or less complete. If the flight reaches earlier than scheduled, then you should count your lucky stars.

I remember dilly-dallying a bit at the airport and bought some foodstuffs from the convenience store before buying my highway bus ticket on the spot. It was the 1007 hr bus to Nagasaki.

Not sure if this helps. Good luck.

Nagasaki will also be my first stop and I just found that the SQ flight has quite a high probability of delay. Looks like I might end up taking the 1007hrs bus

If you buy on arrival it won’t be an issue.

My own experience is same as others, pretty fast between touching down and getting to the bus ticketing site which isn’t far

Thanks for info.

I also saw a YouTube showing the international arrival hall, looks really easy to get the bus tickets on the spot.

I dun quite remember which terminal but I took sq so if same airline then it should be same for you

It seems like only 100m from the custom exit and quite easy to navigate. Just ask the ticket counter and they will tell you if bus have toilets (mine have).

You should be good to go.

perhaps buy ticket on arrival is less stressful unless u got a tight schedule to keep to

I usually leave the first two days with optional activities so as not to get so stressed up. My 2 cents

Quite true after the overnight flight, planned to have a good rest on the highway bus and itinerary is not that packed on the first day. I think even if I miss the bus should still be ok, just take the next bus 1 hr later

Yes. Nothing to do one. Everything revolves around tenjin and Hakata and nothing world class there
I see. I did went a bit further and find it okish

But in terms of night life, it is not as havoc as the other three. Just looking at the list of activities and performances it is way less than the other three

kumamoto even less. Not sure if Nagoya on par or worse

Wow, sounds like good deal!!! Which airline? Which travel period? Transit time? Total travel time to and fro?
