Not really surprising considering its pretty much a ghost town nowadays, but still sad to hear nonetheless....

Wonder where the Funan tenants will move to. Funan has been my go-to place to buy stuff like laptops and camera gear. At least for these stuff, Funan has a much better reputation than SLS.

Well this is NOT the first time Funan had gone redevelopment.
It was call Funan Centre (not Funan The IT Mall).
Anyone still remember there was Arcade on the Top floor that covers almost half the area.

It's 1 of my first stop shopping mall for gadgets and stuff; has been my 'haunt' for many years.

Wonder where the flagship challenger and rest of the shops will move to.

I think its way overdue.

Funan needs to seriously be revamped before it becomes another SLS. I haven been to both Funan & SLS for easily half a decade already.

Hopefully they can revitalize the place into something more modern.

Funan isn't as scandalous as sls. But i think it's oversaturated with IT for a small market like ours. The big names will come back for sure

This makes it the second renovation. The arcade was after the first renovation in the mid 90s.

When the place first opened, I remember there was a food court on the first floor and there was a Han's where the Novena furniture place is now. That was in the late 80s and early 90s.

Yeah, I can remember that A&W booth in that food court! But I was some super young ginna at that time so don't know the power of A&W food then :s13:

Good times...

I still remember sia...

Should have went in to try it once :(

But I heard bad reviews of that place unfortunately. One of them (and a pretty unfair and rude one) was something along the lines of how the maids there look like domestic workers here (i.e. the maids there != French maids in Japanese pop-culture but really those maids people employ in their houses) :(
