I plan to visit Furano July 22-24 but seem like most of the hotel there is above $250+. Any suggestion for other place to stay for total 4 adults and 1 child (4years old).

If you still can't find suitable accommodation in Furano, then maybe consider staying overnight at Asahikawa instead.

End July is Peak Period (High Season) as Furano is a Summer Vacation place.

I chose Forest View because it's on the quieter side of the town, but near to the eateries that I want to have breakfast at every day. And it has 2 rooms with 2 queens (or 2 singles), in a 2 storey half-house.

In June, I'm paying S$275 per night (for a min stay of 3 nights),
but that will quickly go up to around S$450 per night in July.

You could try the Hotel Suzuran, which is about S$60/person per night even in July, but if you book soon, the promotional rate is around S$50/person/night and kids stay for free :)

I will be spending 2 nights at Asahikawa so another 2 nights hope to stay near furano area. Between Asahikawa and Furano traveling by car takes about 1hr so trying to save the journey driving down.

Bro, I've just returned from a 8 days driving trip in Hokkaido (still feeling damn tired:s13:)

I've visited Asahikawa, Biei and Furano... seriously bro, I'd rather you spend more time in Furano than in Asahikawa... there's not much things to see and do Asahikawa except for the zoo, fabric musuem and snow musuem.

And parking in Asahikawa is as expensive and difficult as it is in Sapporo, maybe more so.

Furano on the other hand offers much more sites to see. And Biei is a must go (will post the tons of pics here soon)

I'd recommend 1 nite in Asahikawa and 2 nites in Furano if you want to explore all 3 places properly

I second that suggestion :)

That's why it's 1 night in Asahikawa, 2 nights in Sounkyo (Kamiyubetsu, Takinoue) and 3 nights in Furano for me :)

Yup if anyone is planning to visit Kamikawa/sounkyo area, it's strongly recommended that you stay overnight in Kamikawa town rather than to do a day trip from/to Asahikawa. The various onsen hotels experience at Kamikawa is something you'd remember for a long time as compared to those cramped run of the mill hotels in downtown Asahikawa.

And the scenery and overall env at Kamikawa/sounkyo area is something that can't be compared with anywhere in Asahikawa.
