Fusion Drive

Hi, I am thinking of buying iMac 27" with 5k screen.

However I am not sure whether I should stick with the default fusion drive or upgrade to SSD?

I am worried about the life span of fusion drive.

If you have no budget then go ahead with a flash drive

Fusion drive is the minimum. It combines speed and storage unless you're getting the 1tb ssd with unlimited budget

I'm using it with fusion drive. Boot up is fast and launching apps are fast.

fusion drive should be able to meet most needs as it comprises of 128GB SSD inside as a hybrid storage.

of course if you got extra $, can go for SSD still for superb performance but you will get lesser disk space.

If getting a fusion drive, recommended to get at least the 2TB fusion drive. Because 1 TB fusion drive comes with only 24GB SSD. 2TB and 3TB fusion drives comes with 128GB SSD.

besides, for bootcamp (windows) does it utilize the SSD portion of the fusion drive for faster access like Mac OS X?
