Fustrating: train to Hualien

Stayed till 12am to book my ticket (exactly 14 days), no tickets.
Fine, woke up at 5.30am, check still no tickets. Now 6plus am, still no tickets. Does it mean it is sold out? Looking at 9 October, train 278.

Or if the train is 09:20, I have to check it 14 days earlier at 09:20?

Taiwan gurus, help! Thank you.

Not tix dun have, just that system can be damn slow in loading up.

I just return from Taiwan. For my trip from Taipei to Hualien, I took a Kamalan bus (Route 1917) from Taipei to Luodong, Yilan and from Luodong, I took a local train to Hualien. This saves me the hassle of trying to secure the train ticket.

You can buy this combo ticket (聯運票) from QSquare (next to Taipei Railway Station), Level 4 at Gate 13 from Kamalan Counter. They have bus departing every 30min or so. If there are too many people, they do slot in more bus frequency.

The duration is about the same as taking a direct train from Taipei to Hualien. The cost per ticket is NTD$222 (Bus + Train) and it is almost 50% cheaper than the express train ticket at NTD$440.

They also offer the same return route from Hualien to Taipei too.

Thanks for the guide! Anyway, do you remember where's your origin when you book the tickets? Was it Taipei or other station (e.g. Shulin)? Because I selected depart from Taipei but Shulin came up in the search.

I think u can read point no. 3 ... Could be ur case. But yes, I travelled from Taipei to Hualien then..
