Many young people cross road without checking for traffic or use handphones. Worst are those with headphones or earbuds. There was a girl a few feet from my turning car recently as she walked onto the road without looking. Some parents didn’t teach their kids how to cross roads safely.

67 year old has to work as taxi driver at 3.15am in the morning.

is this our future? made redundant at our jobs, and then have to drive taxi because in sg, very hard to retire for most of us. wonder why?
The taxi driver confirm can retire liao.

Which jaywalker so crazy to jaywalk that stretch of road even in the wee hours.
Had a short term course last yr at smu, the roads around that area is not easy to cross.

While she sat up, she could be having some internal injury or broken bones. Hope she's alright.

2am a long hair girl in white cross the road. If it has been me at the wheels, I would have step on accelerator and drive through. Who knows if she is human or ghost.

She is really lucky to be alive.

that's why safety features like autonomous emergency braking is highly recommended, especially for older drivers
But if you add it in, it will increase the price of the vehicle, making it even more unaffordable to the masses...

But to be honest should have seen it leh... unless the lao uncle at night cannot see well..
No way one can brake in time. Looking at the video, by the time she became visible, it's too late. Any driver cannot reasonably expect an idiot crossing the road without looking cos her eyes are only on her phone and the traffic lights are not in her favour.

Yet the taxi driver will still be penalised while she goes away scot free in terms of penalties. The car damage costs (at least the bumper, if not more) will also be borne by the driver, and he may lose his job.

A single piece of paper already makes cars in Singapore unaffordable to the masses. It's not even a feature.

Precisely. Another portion where people don't see is how the OMV affects the ARF. The ARF is really f***** up....

In the video, can see that there was a car that stopped in the left turning lane just before the pedestrian crossing

I wonder was she was waiting to cross, then the car stopped before the traffic light, so she assumed it was green man and crossed without checking

Else I also think no one will jaywalk this super big 6 lane road without looking... Unless drunk or what...
