I need some help with the below problem. Not sure if the card is faulty. Currently running a I7 3770 with w10 64 bit and 1000w superflower gold psu.

I have 2 980ti in sli and both behave differently with each other with regards to the LED. GPU 1 behaves as per product description. "windforce" logo off, "fan" and "silent" light up under idle(fan not spinning). "windfore" logo on, "fan" and "silent" off under load(fan spinning).

GPU 2 however has both the "windforce", "fan" and "silent" led on at all time irregardless if the fan is spinning or not. The only to off all the led is to manually off it. Turning it on after will only turn on the windforce logo. "Silent" and "fan" led will not turn on irregardless it the fan is spinning or not.

I have tried switching the pcie slot for the 2 cards. GPU 1 will work properly no matter which pcie slot it is in. GPU 2 will not work properly no matter which pcie slot it is in. I am also using OC guru ii to control the lightings. Both card bioses is as per the latest F4 bios.

Found this under gigabyte website. "Remark: Silent/Stop LED light On/Off have controlled by internal circuit. The LED light off if someone interrupt the fan work by external forces. Otherwise, LED light on if someone drive the fan turning around."

So is the internal circuit for GPU2 screwed? Can I do 1-1 exchange at CDL? Anybody know if the replacement is a brand new 1 or a refurbished 1?

Additional info: GPU 1 came with stock F3 bios with black protective port covers.(Suspect is earlier batch of GPU).
GPU 2 came with stock F4 bios with blue protective port covers(Suspect is later batch of GPU).

Does the 2 different batches have different behaviour towards LED?

Probably best to give CDL tech support a call and ask, else bring it down and see if they can help you

RMA replacement will be a refurbished unit. Occasionally, someone may get a new unit if there are no refurbished ones available.

does GPU 2 behave the proper way if you use it on its own as a single card?

I have tried using it as a single card as well in the first pcie slot. mobo is a z77x-ud3h which is sli capable. GPU 2 still does not operate normally. GPU 1 does however operate as per product description.
