Hello Guys!

My Note II is able to connect to my home WIFI but the signal strength is either weak or fair, i.e. 0 or 1 bar. and it always loses the connection. I have to be very very very close to my modem to achieve the maximum 4 bars! I also tested using my friend's Note II and has no problem achieving minimum 3 bars.

My laptop and iPhone also have no problem connecting to my WIFI network and are also able to detect several nearby networks. But my Note II... :(:(

I tried modifying the network config as below (but still receive weak/no signal):
- IP settings: Static
- IP address: 192.168.1.68
- Gateway: 192.168.1.0
- Network: 24
- DNS 1: 192.168.1.0 (same as Gateway)

My modem was given by SingTel under MioPlan.
DHCP Range: 192.168.1.64 - 192.168.1.253

Did I missed out anything resolve the WIFI signal strength issue? Or is my Note II faulty? Please help help me!

Many thanks in advanced!

1. Try changing the up address by adding 1-3 to the last hexa.

2. Your gateway should be the same as your router ip address.

3. Are you experiencing low signal strength or connected but can't use internet?

4. If it is just signal strength then it could be your wifi on your note 2 is faulty, or you have a casing that happens to block out your wifi signal (try removing any casing or attachments).

By the sounds of it you may have a problem with the hardware for your wifi on your note 2. Might want to send to the service center to check.

Tried.

Same

Connected with weak signal strength and can use internet but very very slow. Sometimes connection loss.

I didn't use any casing.

Seems like it :( I called up Samsung, they also suspect is handset faulty and offer to repair. But to me it is a newly purchase one. Repairing it makes me feel like i am buying an inferior/2nd hand handset. I will bring it to the service centre tmr.

Keep you guys updated! and thanks for replying! Appreciate it! :)

I think its firmware issue. There are some hotspots i can't seem to connect. the Iphone works fine, can connect to most hotspots, i hardly have any problems with the iPhone's wifi.
