I just got it.

It will actually just credit 41.xx into your existing account after redeeming the code, so pretty much only 3 bucks for 12 months PS Plus for me.

Yes, each region (US, EU, Asia, JP) has different titles and even different number of free games. Nowadays US and EU are the same (only a couple of times they have one title different).

You don't have to actually download the free games (especially if you don't intend to play some of them soon), but you must complete the purchase process (add to cart, check out, paying $0) during the period when they are free, otherwise you cannot claim them any more after the month.

I would suggest going to store.playstation.com (sign in with your PSN account that is PS+ member) on a web browser, like on Windows PC. Do the purchase process from there. If you do the purchase on a PS4, you can only purchase the free PS4 games (cannot purchase PS3 or vita). Doing it on a web browser allows you to buy all the free games, even if you don't own the other consoles like PS3 or Vita (who knows, you may buy one later?).

On the one hand, if you buy free game that you will never play, Sony probably has to pay the dev/publisher based on the purchase transaction, so it's a waste of Sony's money. On the other, you paid for PS+ subscription, you are entitled to it. I don't want to get philosophical about it (whether claiming games you won't play will eventually cause Sony to increase PS+ price), your call.

You can initiate the download process (for the games you actually want to play) from the web site or from the PS4. Ya, I won't get those games I don't even want to play, maybe just the Mafia, seems good. I read last month there was Black Ops 3 for free, was it available in Asia also?

Syberia series has its own cult following, even though the reviews for all of them were never that good. At least theres mafia 3, without the story dlcs though i assume.
