Ya, Destiny 2 has gone free-to-play since 1 Oct 2019 (start of Year 3, Shadowkeep). The free-to-play part (called New Light) includes all Year 1 contents (base game + all 2 Year 1 DLCs). We are now in Season 11 (3 seasons in Year 1, 4 seasons in Year 2 and 3), Year 4 will be starting in 22 Sep 2020.

Seasonal contents after Year 1 need to be purchased. Each season does have some new contents that free-to-play players can participate in. There are also a lot of free contents for solo players too, so it's quite worth just jumping in and try.

There are story campaigns in Year 1 but if you join now, you won't start with the story, you will just do a quick tutorial and get into open world, and you will start with power level 750, the floor at start of Year 3. (The power cap now for Season 11 is 1050, so quite a bit to catch up, but shouldn't be too difficult through normal daily play, since loots tend to drop at higher intervals for lower level players.) You can start the story campaigns via an NPC (Amanda Holiday at the Tower hangar area), but at power 750, you are really too powerful for the campaigns and will be able to easily complete them. Pity they didn't seem to scale that cos the campaigns are quite fun actually.

btw, the start screen and game icon always change to the latest year/season, so even if you don't buy the latest year/season, it will still show an updated screen.

In case anyone have same issue, below is the workaround found in GOG forum:

- close GOG Galaxy if it's running at the moment

- log in to PSN (store.playstation.com) through your browser
(if you were already logged in, log out first, then back in)

- after the login open this link: https://ca.account.sony.com/api/v1/ssocookie

youll get something like: {"npsso":"xxx"}
where xxx is the npsso value

- open windows explorer and enter the following into the address bar at the top and press enter
%LocalAppData%\GOG.com\Galaxy\plugins\installed\

- open the psn_{random number} folder and edit the plugin.py file with your favourite text editor

- go to line 64. it sould look like this:
stored_npsso = stored_credentials.get("npsso") if stored_credentials else None

delete everything on that line after: stored_npsso =
then add your nppso value behind it in quotation marks.

it should look like this:
stored_npsso = "npsso value"

("npsso value" is the value from step 3 and should be a 64 character long text consisting of numbers, lower case letters and upper case letters)
(the quotation marks " " are important!)

- save the changes made to plugin.py and close the file
- restart GOG Galaxy
- try connecting with PSN again

finally owned witcher goty on pc liao. can do all the mods liao.

dunno a physical ps4 cd can activate how many times. but i picked up on carousell and sold it after activating. u all can try if keen. but no guarantee u can do it "free".

ps: i dun have issues with linking ps4 with gog. in fact i was able to do to 2 psn accounts. maybe try reinstall as i installed gog for this purpose only.

Actually I thought we had Modern Warfare 1 a few months ago, vaguely remember playing the beginning mission as Cpt Price on a cargo ship, lol, maybe I was watching youtube let's play. the modern warfare we had a few months ago is the old remastered version. think the cpt price you saw is the latest reboot version with same name.
