That's a good combo, but you should tell us your budget

Try the second hand market if u don’t mind it. Think over next few months should have good bargains.

If you can afford to wait I will suggest to wait for black friday late next month, can buy components with discounts.

For motherboard if you got a bit budget, can consider X570 model for future proofing.

The cheapest x570 I can find is around $200

For ram I recommend Corsair Vengeance LPX, slightly more than $100 for 16GB

b550 is good enough for most people, not everyone needs to pay up more for pcie4 chipset link. x570 also has cooling fan, which is an extra point of failure. recommend getting b550 since while it is cheaper, vrm quality is generally still good, compared to some x570 boards which can cost more.

also the ram link is only $100+ for the slower 2400mhz ram. for ryzen u should be looking at 3000+ mhz to get the most performance. cheap and fast ram can be had for under $100 on amazon.

But x570 and b550 prices are really close now

I agree, it's usually around S$20-50 difference.

But then again, B550 has passive cooling while x570 has active cooling. Some people want to opt into a more quiet system.

Btw, why the heck are the Asus ROG Strix mobos so dang expensive?

So i think either go for b450 for budget

Or go high end x570 will be best deal
