Actually your GPU is still powerful to handle most games in high settings in 1080p, unless you are playing on 1440P. if 1080p at ultra settings i think can get 280X, but at 1440p, i think you might need crossfire or sli at stable framerates. Btw if you can get 280x below $400 then get, if not top up abit more can get an Asus 290 at $500++
