this is a long list of latency test with sample of video for many keybaord available on the market.

A lot of wired keychron sitting @ 10ms +, no optimization :spin:.

Apple and Ducky over 25ms. That's horrible.

Imagine having a low latency monitor n high fps, and then using this kind of peripheral o_O

Apart from latency, it's also good to have less distance travel key press.

There is this one for controllers

ya somehow this trigger me to find more information on keyboard latency when my tune fps going above 200fps++ i felt my keyboard have sort of latency penalty.

the list does not have 2 of my controller in list:

Microsoft Elite (1st Gen) & 8bitdo Ultimate

Yeah, because it's not being updated anymore, many newer controllers are not there. I am still searching for a new controller, especially since PGR is coming out on PC. If not, then I'll stick with my kb n mouse.

Playing reaction-based games with low-latency peripherals makes a huge difference. My success rate for performing actions that require precise timing improves significantly with low latency. This is how I tell when something has sh1tty input lag.

For instance, my 8bitdo Pro 2 wireless controller averages around 20ms with a maximum of 40ms. When I switch to my mouse n kb, my timings become much more successful.

Anyway, your 8bitdo Ultimate polling rate is likely on 250Hz/125Hz, 2.4GHz/BT. Wired probably also cap at 250Hz, but my 8bitdo pro 2 cap at 125Hz. It's really bad.

I may consider looking up how to overclock my pro 2. If not, I'll get another controller and use my pro 2 for turn-based RPG games.

Yeap 250Hz Polling rate. Real use latency will be higher than measured because he only moves the joystick during the test. When spamming consecutive buttons, the latency will go higher.

Anyway, 5-10ms is ok already. Pair along with low travel buttons, n good to go. My 8bitdo 2 pro is high latency and high travel. I don't get the snappy feel I get from my DS4, Razer, and GameSir Controller. Even my phone's touch screen input lag is noticeably better

it use Cherry MX Speed:

Depending on what you are using now, I think you may have difficulty getting used to it.

My hyperX aqua switches spec at 45g and 1.8mm pre-travel already actuate quite fast. MX Brown is 55G and 2mm and it feels significantly slower.

ya actually my experience it is much better of 8bitdo Ultimate than my Xbox Elite and especially playing ninja gaiden less frastration

I am currently using ROG Scope (Cherry Red switch) similar to the following except with numpad not TKL.

I guess time to train harder 🤣

my new mouse ROG Harpe Ace feel so much better than my Logitech G Pro in term of weight and handling for latency experience.

Can you test your 8bitdo ultimate here https://gamepad-tester.com/
My 8bitdo pro 2 has 2 major problems apart from the latency.

1) The joystick registered as a square shape instead of round. (tick test circularity)
1679058651662.png

2) The next problem is that the d-pad diagonals don't register or only register intermittently if I don't push down hard enough. So after pushing down the D-PAD, extra force is still required to actuate the buttons.

Ya like when playing halo infinite, the opponent moving left right up down so fast like breakdancing, I felt Iike I am slower in tango motion

For FPS games strafing is better with a low-latency keyboard. I noticed that it was easier 'coming to a stop' by moving in the opposite direction to get the bullet shooting straight.

Ya this is where i always scractching my head as what happen to my game play movement, then only i started to realised it was possible the short coming in keyboard latency.

below is my test results controller:

maybe this is because i specifically tune my Sticks for Ninja Dragon / DMC games play in the

as for the D-pad registered in test all was easily press to actuate buttons which is much better than my xbox elite honestly.

Time to consider a new controller I guess ☺️

The first day I got it the D-Pad was already like that :ROFLMAO: .

On diagonal D-PAD input, press down subtly cannot/intermittent register, need extra force after it goes down.

I thinking to get the ultimate.. but got 4 variants.. dont know which 1 is the best
