I am looking for a gaming laptop. Don't know much about laptop prices, suggestions please?
Budget: $1600-1800

Currently I am deliberating between these two:

MSI GP62 6QF Leopard Pro 1070SG Price: 1.6K
CPU: 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor
OS: Windows 10 Home
Memory: 8GB DDR4-2133 MHz, max 32GB (2 Slots)
Panel: 15.6" FHD (1920x1080), Anti-Glare Vivid Color 94%
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5
Storage: 128GB SSD (PCIE GEN3 NVMe) + 1TB HDD 7200rpm
Optical Drive: Super Multi DVDRW
LAN: Killer™ GbLAN with Killer Shield
Wireless: Intel® 3165 Stone Peak 1 (1x1 802.11 ac)
Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.0
Keyboard: Single color backlighting (white) SteelSeries keyboard

Aftershock SM-15 Price: ~1.8k
CENTRAL PROCESSING UNIT : Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor (Quad Core 6th Gen)
Graphics Card : NVIDIA Geforce GTX 965M 4GB GDDR5 Graphics
Display (SM-15) : 15.6" FHD Matte IPS Display (1920x1080)
Thermal Compound : GELID SOLUTIONS GC-PRO Premium Thermal Compound CPU+GPU
Memory (RAM) : 8GB DDR4 2133mhz (1x8)
M.2 SSD BAY (PCIE 2X/4X) : 120GB Samsung EVO 850 M.2 SSD (540MB Read / 500MB Write)
Hard Drive : 1TB 7200RPM HGST HDD
OPTICAL DISK DRIVE : 8 x DVD ± R/RW/4X +DL Super Multi Drive & Software
WI-FI BLUETOOTH : KILLER 1535 AC WIFI+BT
Operating System : Windows 10 Home 64 Bit

Are these any good? Feels that the aftershock is overpriced but the MSI being made out of plastic is not very reassuring.

If you can, wait for the upcoming fair. Should be end Nov. I also looking for one but it's more ment for graphics work. Quite surprised to see thay msi is cheaper than aftershock really. The last show aftershock was cheaper.

Jusy curious, why thr 960 range of graphics card instead of the newer one?

msi is cheaper because that model is on sale at Challenger now. By fair u mean the upcoming CEF? Can't attend that one sadly.

I don't really play graphics intensive games so I figured the higher ranges is overkill for me. And mostly cos 970 and above that I've seen so far costs above 2k, which is over my budget.

Our GP60 with GTX960 is going @ $1399 with steel series keyboard. Full MSI 2 years warranty. Asus GTX970 $1.6k region. Asus/Acer GTX980 $2k region. Do check out. :)
