Budget: 2k5-3k5. The lower the better.

Minimum requirements:
- Screen 15.6" or 17". At least 1080p 120Hz.
- Has SSD or SSD upgradeable
- At least 8GB RAM, preferably 16GB+ or upgradeable to 16GB+
- GPU at least GTX 1050Ti/1060, preferably 1070
- CPU at least i7-6xxx, preferably i7-8xxx

Considerations:
- Good cooling
- Good wifi adapter

Non-considerations:
- Weight: 2kg or 6kg is the same for me
- Appearance

What am I using it for?
- Some heavy gaming (GTA V, Watch Dogs 2)
- Heavy programming (Android emu)

I know my requirements are a bit high and I'm willing to splurge some more, up to 4k SGD. But again, the less I spend, the better.
Also I am not buying immediately but waiting till end of year when NVIDIA releases the 11xx series in hope that the 10xx series will drop price.

Actually I do consider SFF so feel free to recommend if you think I can hit a good deal with an SFF instead of a laptop.

how about GE73? as you mentioned weight is not the important, so 17" is a better way to enjoy the game.

GE73 Raider RGB
-120hz with 3ms 94%NTSC
-GTX 1070 8G
-I7-8750H
-Per-key RGB Steelseries keyboard
-DDR4 16GB 2666Mhz (upgradeable to 32GB)
-256GB NVMe SSD +1TB (SATA) 7200rpm
-cooling 7 heatpipes (one of the best in terms of gaming)

Screw this, I'm building a case. Vastly cheaper, even with a small form factor. Getting a GTX1080 Ti for future proof.

with your 4k budget might as well get 2080Ti for even more future proofing

What is heavy gaming ?

1050 GeForce can play almost all games liao

Hoho, no. Unless you're content playing heavy AAA titles at low to med-low settings or even lower than that at 1080p. Which i'm pretty sure is not what OP wants since he alr states "heavy gaming" with a rather steep budget starting from 2.5k.

The 1050ti is not bad, but to get a 1050 for AAA gaming is pretty foolish imo. I play AAA titles to enjoy the lovely graphics, not be forced to stare at crappy pixels and fps because i'm using a horribly underpowered GPU.

Ppl usually go for gaming laptops if they're constantly on the move eg. frequent biz trips etc. If you're at home alot its definitely more cost-effective to get a desktop

I go back home twice a year. Just gonna send the monitor to my friend's house then pack up the stuff in anti static bags and bring home.
