Put pricing one side, this laptop specs is bascially a oven.
Do you want to cook your _____ seriously.
For gaming wise get a desktop than laptop.

If you not getting those with good cooling solution chances are it spoil fast with daily intense use.. getting laptop is not just looking at spec.

Price is quite alright for a 13900HX and 4080.

Some tips i can share. Get those laptop adjustable feet so you can lift up the laptop to have better ventilation below the laptop. Helps A LOT. Getting a laptop cooler also help, but u need to get a good one.

Noise is a concern because everything is so compact, when the laptop heats up, fans will spin faster hence more noise. Gaming laptop tend to have better fans, which spin faster so it produces louder noise. Got headphone then not really a concern.

Use your gaming laptop in a clean environment so that dust will not be accumulated so easily.

I have similar spec PC version (i9 13900k + RTX 4080 + 32GB RAM + 2TB NVMe SSD) and it cost me $4k for the tower alone. But it is a very powerful PC. I think laptop version may be abit weaker but should be comparable in performance, so you probably can use it as a desktop replacement meaning you can probably play most modern games in 4k high settings. Its probably gonna be very heavy and bulky though so may not be very portable. Heat wise, unless u are doing heavy CPU or GPU tasks, running at idle or low CPU tasks shouldnt generate too much heat. If i had to get a desktop replacement i think this is not bad. But if u want portability probably not the best option

4080 laptop vs 4080 desktop are different animals. Do not compare it this way.

4080 laptop is equivalent to 4070 or 7800xt desktop which I build recently in itx form. Cost me abt 2k after card rebates. A normal atx or matx can easily be below 1.8k.

Price is good.
If this is your first gaming laptop then do survey more on the heat temperature of the unit you plan to purchase because gaming operation above 95c for both cpu and GPU should be considered normal unlike desktop.

It's heavy laptop.. I rather get the acer swift x .. a real laptop that can game..

Btw acer nitro or Lenovo loq is a better laptop as the GPU is not the power cut down version..

That's the point of a laptop rite? Laptop suppose to be thin and light.. anyway if wanna game then get the Lenovo go or ROG ally instead?

The price is fine. However as some have pointed out, it will run super hot and loud. Couple of things that I don't like,
1. For the price, Acer still kept this to a miserable 16GB of DDR5 memory
2. Acer have a tendency to make their laptop difficult to upgrade. Not too sure about this model, but in a few cases, I noticed they purposely flip the motherboard around to make the components below the keyboard. So to change say the thermal compound, and meddle around can be a lot more work.
