I'm planning to build a pc in 1 or 2 months time and this is the parts that i've decided in getting. Prices are all taken from Pcthemes.

Motherboard + CPU : Asus H170 Pro Gaming + i5 6600- 548
GPU: Zotac Gtx970 4GB Twin Fan DDR5- 459
RAM: Cosair Vengeance 2133Mhz (8GBx2) 16GB-118
CPU cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 cooler-69
PSU: seasonic m12 modular 520W-99
SSD: crucial BX200 240GB SATA3 SSD -109
HDD: Western D 1TB Blue SATA3-76
Case: Cosair spec 01 red atx case-79
Os: windows 7 premium-49(from Qoo10)

total-1606 sgd

Is this a good build? Are all the components compatible with one another? I also don't plan to overclock or anything. My budget is around the price. Is there any parts that are a waste of money and is there any other better alternatives? I plan to play games at 1080p at ultra high settings. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

In 1 to 2 months time, gtx 1070 will be in the market. The gtx 970 should be at a lower price hopefully.

TBH the price for the parts not attractive to me .... rather buy the parts separately from amazon and lazada for more savings , I think easily $110+ savings from ram + cooler + graphic ..... psu and ssd also change to other brand

and also wait for next generation graphics ...

I might change the mobo to ASRock h170 pro 4.

I think if I buy all the parts from the same shop they might give some discount?

If I buy parts from Amazon do they deliver straight to the doorstep? Or do I need to use some external agencies to do that?

yes doorstep .... about 1-2weeks
small items within 18inches only .... long keyboard or big casing cannot qualify

but when you browse the product pages , only "sold by amazon.com" qualify
if you see 3rd party vendor like "sold by BestDealsDaily LLC" then those do not qualify, they use amazon's logistic system only... they are NOT amazon

IMO it is better to accumulate the substantial savings .... then u can squeeze a 1070 into your budget in the near future when it is available

After looking at hlot123 post, I'm afraid that I'll end up like that hahah. Is there any mobo to recommend?

You don't need a Hyper 212 cause you cannot oc the CPU. If you need something better than stock. Get this for $20.

http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/x-dream-i117/

Save up the difference for something better.
coolermaster 212 is not very good at OC .... singapore temperature +10 compared to northern country
just an entry level 120mm cooler ..... the fan can spin slower and produce less annoying noise compared to a smaller fan with higher RPM

if really tight budget can reduce 212evo to T4 ... both from coolermaster ... 29.99 drop to 23.19 US

Hmmm actually no special features. The b150 has all the same ddr4 slots and everything right. If so I might just get the b150 instead.
Amd r9 390 8gb is more expensive than gtx 970 isn't it?

well just that ddr4 slots is only 2 dimm slots. wont have usb 3.1 or type c (depends on which boards), lesser pci-e lanes.

anyway if u dun think to install a lot of hdd/ssd, use m.2 as well as using other pci-e lane (beside gpu), its still alright to get board.

well yes r9 390 is more exp den gtx 970, since r9 390 is better than gtx 970 =:p
