Hi guys,

Planning to get a gaming pc, plays LoL, WoW and Far cry mostly. Wondering if i should get 2 GPU since i would use Tri Screens and switch to TV once in awhile.

- Would prefer to have SSD for OS storage only
- 2TB HDD would be good
- Would like to have a side recommendation for silent casing.
- Dont plan to overclock but would prefer better cooling system as CPU would be place under the table. (necessary?)
- Can exclude monitor keyboard and mouse.
-Don't intend to upgrade PC for 3 years

Budget : $2.5 - $3k

Thanks!

My recommendation:

Mobo+CPU: Asus Z87 Gryphon + i5-4570 - $537
Gfx: MSI GTX 770 2GB Twin Frozr (Dual SLI) - $1,338
Mem: G.Skill Ripjaws-X 1600MHZ 16GB (8GBx2) CL9
SSD: Plextor M5S 256GB - $259 (Not sure how much space u need)
HDD: WD Caviar Black (2TB) - $215
Casing: CM Storm Scout II Black - $159
PSU: Seasonic X Series 1050W - $299
ROM: LG 24x DVD-RW Sata OEM - $25 (Not sure if u need)

Total: $3,031

Prices Quoted from PCThemes. Go down to bargain bah.. Add 1x140mm or 2x120mm front chassis fans and u should be fine..

I'm new to all these stuffs... But if TS not intending to overclock, wouldn't it be a bit pointless to get that ram?
Just asking. Haha haha.

No need to get the Z87 gryphon if you do not wish to overclock. Probably get something like H87.

My recommendations would be somewhat close
Mobo should get ASUS H87 PRO with the i7-4770
SSD if you are planning on just OS installation then get the 128gb will do.
Ram 8gb enough. 16gb overkill

Everything else the same.

Brand new and latest, ASUS G750J for sale!

Brand new and latest, ASUS G750J for sale!

Bought on 24th June 2013 from #1 Asus distributor in Singapore. Mint condition, booted the machine only 2-3 times, then went abroad. Now back in Singapore and want to sell this machine. In original box and all accessories still in sealed plastic. Bought it for SGD 2198.00 for my son as a surprise birthday gift. But he says it’s too big for him. Best cash offer nearest to original price, gets this latest dream gaming machine. First come, first serve. Sale in SG only. Reply to mittur98 AT gmail DOT com

Okay , thanks for the input guys! :)

Is AMD better than nvidia when it comes to multiple monitors? Is it really better to go single 6gb or SLI 2gb?

I need recommendations for monitor as well. Going for 30". Don't really have a fixed budget. Would prefer to have slick looking monitors.

SSD most probably going for 128GB. Don't need that much storage space as most will go to my HDD.

Taken from wuweiz's recommendations + some editing (in bold)

Mobo+CPU: Asus Z87 Gryphon + i5-4570 - $537
Gfx: MSI GTX 770 2GB Twin Frozr (Dual SLI) - $1,338
Mem: G.Skill Ripjaws-X 1600MHZ 8GB (just 1 will do)
SSD: Plextor M5S 128GB - $172
HDD: WD Caviar Black (2TB) - $215
Casing: CM Storm Scout II Black - $159
PSU: Seasonic X Series 1050W - $299
ROM: LG 24x DVD-RW Sata OEM - $25

Currently I'm stuck between AMD and nvidia for GPU. Which one would be better for my tri monitor setup? :)

Thanks!!!

Change the RAM to Corsair Vengence 8GB (2x4GB) bah..

Sorry. I would like to make one more change.

Changing graphics card to: Gigabyte GTX 770 4GB DDR5 x2 - $1,398..

You can change a cheaper mobo also if you want. I just chose Gryphon for aesthetics. :s13: Just take note of whether the board supports SLI.. Most ASUS lower tier boards support only Crossfire..

I think Crossfire still have bigger unresolved issues compared to SLI..

For mobo, which would you suggest other then Gryphon? Looking at Asrock..

If you still wanna use Z series mobo without an overclocking cpu then i suggest you get Asrock z87 extreme 4.

What i think is that no point buying a z series if you aint over clock. Rather reduce to somewhat like H or B series and then get a better cpu perhaps an i7-4770.
