Completely new to PC gaming here and would like to ask you all for help to get into it. Have a budget of 1.3~1.5k (can stretch a bit if worth it) and would like to get myself a desktop. However I can't DIY (complete noob) so recommendations of where to get it build would be great.

Would like to have a Fractal Design Define R4 case and GTX970 if possible. WIFI and SSD is a must.

Don't really need peripherals but if can fit a monitor will be nice. Would like another monitor...

Btw how you all lug your rig back from SLS :s11: Thanks for your help bros!

How to carry back the pc is entirely up to you. Best is to have a friend accompany along. All the small stuffs can be put in a backpack. Carry only the casing and the Monitor.

MSI H97 Gaming 3 + i5-4460 ~ $393
GSkills Ripjaws 1600mhz 2x4gb kit ~ $115
WD Blue 1tb ~ $68
Crucial MX100 256gb ~ $143 (Mastercard Monday @ lazada.sg or use Masterpass with $20 off)
Zotac GTX 970 4gb Dual Fan ~ $404 (Price after Mastercard Monday with 10% off)
Superflower HX600 600w 80+ Gold Semi Modular PSU ~ $98 (Price after Mastercard Monday with 10% off)
Sharkoon BD28 ~ $74
LG DVD Drive ~ $21
Dell S2340L 23inch eIPS Panel ~ $198

Total ~ $1514. Buy at tradepac unless stated. DIY

Take note that lazada Mastercard Monday is only applicable on Mondays. And has a max capped of $50 discount. In order to go over $50 max cap best is to separate the purchases.

Bring to nigel's shop at #02-32... PC care & solution...

But, do inform him beforehand coz he may be fully booked.

Or can take the challenger and do the real D-I-Y at home. Watch youtube for help, linustechtip DIY guide or 3 parts newegg diy guide.

I would encourage you to DIY. It isnt nuclear science to build one. Follow my guide here:

http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...mprehensive-diy-pc-dummies-guide-4783384.html

Take a look. Theres a lot of advantages thru DIY. Not only you learn on the hardware components. You get to know more about your own pc.

Take up the challenge. Im sure you can do it.

We are online most of the time. Along the way if you need help, you could cone back here and ask.

Thanks for the advice, guys! I shall give it a shot as a short project then, seems fulfilling. Quite daunting though, hope I don't break anything..

@royfrosty: Wow, that's a really detailed guide! I'd count on it :)
