Hi, i want to build a gaming rig, budget is 2.2k to 2.5k! Would it be better to buy like 2 gtx970 or 1 gtx 980? :s22: Because lazed got quite a few good deals going on now, like the Palit gtx980 is only $700 after Mastercard monday. So looks quite tempting haha, but not sure if the quality is like the same with other gtx 980. Thanks!

NO NEED: Monitor,kb,mouse

NEED: OS, speakers

*Would be good if can do like a water cooled system, like the corsair hydro series thingy, but don't know if my budget can allow that hahah.:s13:

Hi, thanks for your comment! This rig is meant for gaming only, i won't be doing any photoshop or video editing. I want to play like the latest game on ultra with smooth frame rates etc.

*I'm currently have a i7-2600, hopefully can reuse this cpu, if cannot than nvm lol

It shall be assumed that you have already brought a GTX 980.

Mobo: Asrock B75 Pro3-M (111)
RAM: Corsair Vengenance 1600Mhz (2X4GB) (112)
SSD: Crucial MX100 256GB (154)
HDD: Toshiba 1TB 7200RPM (64)
DVD-RW: Samsung 24X DVD-RW SATA OEM (21)
PSU: Superflower HX 600M (108)
Case: Corsair 200R (85)*
OS: Windows 7 Home Prem (120)*

Total cost: $775

*As Tradepac have listed the prices of these items as ASK/OFFER, these are the approximate prices of these items. You may not get these prices when you go to Tradepac.

Buy at Tradepac, #05-18, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, go to PC Care & Solutions, #02-32, SLS, and have Nigel assemble for you for a fee.

Notes:

1) The Asrock B75 Pro3-M is intended to be used with your i7-2600.

2) Got Mastercard? Consider buying the SSD and PSU from lazada.com on a Monday and get 10% discounts when you pay with a Mastercard.

I called around SLS - PCT sold out z77 boards liao. You can try Bizgram and Fuwell, but those are not so cheap.

What about the Asus B75M-A ($112) or the Gigabyte B75M-D3V ($100)?

If it supports 2nd gen cpu, then its fine. Question is whether SLS have stocks and if so, whats the price they are selling? If ppl come looking for old boards, they may jack up prices since they know that those ppl need the boards.

just my 2 cents.
