Hey guys, hope to get your recommendations on a pc build for gaming.

Purpose: AAA gaming. No video editing
Budget: ~1.5 - 2 K approximately
Position of PC: most probably the floor, dont mind table if small enough, e.g. matx

Don't need Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, Monitor. Not OC-ing.
No colour scheme needed.
Using powerline LAN, no need wifi. As per speedtest.net

Already have, Monitor: Dell U2717D, 1440p, 60Hz
Looking for most value for money if possible.

Need your kind advice for below:
Case: ? Fractal Design Define R5 -
initially wanted to build matx as I had the impression it was cheaper and more compact, was shortlisting corsair air 240, but the case also like not much cheaper... also partly cause i wont be crossfiring or sli-ing. prefer to change gpu
Either matx or atx build

CPU + Mobo: ? i6500 + ? mobo - dont really know the differences between diff boards, will nd help on this. are matx boards much cheaper than atx? Not OC-ing.

Ram: DDR4 kingston 8gb ram x 1

GPU: ? Nvidia 1070 -
waiting for arrival to see prices. or anything cheap to hoot in the meantime? i think i have a gtx 750 from another com sumwhere

PSU: ?
prefer modular, but if price is very diff from non-modular then nvm. will not be xfing or sli-ing

SSD: ? Samsung EVO 850 500gb -
from lazada? hope got EA sticker, awaiting lazada email confirmation

HDD: ? WD 2 TB

OS: Need OS -
what is the cheapest solution? 100 + bucks for an os seems.... tad exp

Where would be the cheapest to purchase them individually?

CPU cooler prolly using intel stock cooler, since not gonna oc, but the poison is strong :s13:

For motherboard if you not ocing and not gonna SLI can get the b150 series or H170 series. Z170 series are for those who want to oc and sli.

GPU just wait for 1070 to be released. Hope prices for 970 or 980 to drop.

For SSD PSU and RAM can get from amazon. SSD no need to get samsung, got cheaper alternatives like OCZ trion or crucial.

Windows 10 PRO 64bit OS key can get from qoo10 for S$50.

i've read it, but... seriously my mobo knowledge cmi. i do see the B150 getting recommended more in hwz though, touted to be business but... i've seen the gaming boards.

how should i intepret the differences?

well yes B series is the business version, but its like h110 series. just cheaper version as well and there is no limitation for mobo makers not to make a non gaming series to gaming series.

Casing can consider fractal design s. Think of it as a define r5 but with all of the hdd brackets removed and placed on the back instead. Cheaper too. Good if you are planning to at most have 3 hdd and 2 ssd which i think is plenty.

Saw the lazada sale with free shipping.

Any recommendations for case and psu?

Still unsure of case to get, matx vs atx and brand.

Looking at the samsung evo 850 500gb as well

Samsung EVO 500GB is $204.9(Superdeals) on Lazada before any discount. Really good price imo. But i'm unsure if the stock is from local distro. $209 from another seller should be with EA sticker.

PSU I usually get EVGA from Amazon. Alternatively, Superflower Leadex is a good option too.

If you're considering at budget friendly ATX casing that's decent looking, can consider this

Thanks, i see FSP and superflower leadex being recommended alot.

In terms of efficiency, is it worth the extra cash for silver / gold?
Or just bronze will do?

Im guessing ard 600-650w is enough.

I heard the ssd 209 has ea, based on ur post, superdeals 204.9 is non local?

why they are reco is because they are cheaper and only superflower is better in both side.

unless u are constantly running long hours of CPU and gpu loads around 50% or above best get better efficiently like gold, if normal gaming and not using PC for long time can use bronze.

well still depends on your configuration. I would say 500w is enough.

Bronze silver gold dosent really matter in terms of efficiency unless ure running ur rig 24/7.

Some people buy because they want to do o/c and the gold/plat ones are supposed to have lesser ripple.

Others (like me) see which one cheap then buy which one. (Yes, sometimes gold can be cheaper than bronze esp during black Friday :s22:)

i no idea what component leads to efficiency & what leads to less ripple, but overall psu efficiency & psu ripple quality are not related
http://www.overclock.net/t/1600993/why-you-should-not-buy-a-silverstone-strider-titanium-600-watt
not specifically about this silverstone

but from other brand review , I got the impression that some specific design perform the best at gold efficiency , the manufacturer try to squeeze out the last 2% higher efficiency and as a side effect may introduce more ripple
simply more cost effective to edit the base design than complete redesign .... (SF leadex/ evga g2 p2)

platinum rating doesn't have any correlation to quality
you can have an antec with only taiwan caps
or other brand higher priced with full japanese caps

i understand...
to conclude, best is read reviews of tat particular psu model,
and not relate psu efficiency to other aspects of psu quality & performance...

Isnt the ripple for oc? But its getting kinda deep here haha. Thought 600w would be safer

Zre0 wat do u mean that superflower is btr in bothside?

Prefer modular if possible, but if no choice/ too ex nvm
