If that is the case just swap the Gfx out for MSI 970 Armour in Lazada.

Seems like you already know what your friend need then go for 4GB ram and remove ssd and put more into the GPU budget.

HWZ price list is a click away. Since you can post here I am sure you are capable enough to help your friend do some research as well.

Btw, don't do this up for more recommendation thing. It is quite insulting to ppl who already spend time to do your work for you.

Anyway just so you know, 4GB ram is almost barely enough for gaming.

Advisable to go for 8gb.

Games like battlefield 4 alone uses 3gb of ram. The operating system uses another 1.5gb of ram.

4gb is only good if you play games like maple, dota2, LOL or any not demanding games.

I would recommend gtx 970 from lazada. If you dont want online shopping, then u can get the r9 285 for your budget. What resolution are you playing at? What game settings are you expecting? Ultra? High? Low? List more details plz. We cant help you if you dont give details

285 not really recommended because it is basically same as 280 but you pay more and 285 being slightly more efficient.

Rather he stick with 280 or 970/290/x.
