Hi guys! I (first timer) need a gaming rig with a budget about $1.6k (can stretch a bit more). I need OS, kb and mouse. It will be used mainly for gaming (L4D2, TF2, Borderlands 2, Metro franchise etc., most of them are fps). Hoping to get to at least high settings.

I was wondering which brand (green vs red) is better. I searched the web and found out something about the actual shader performance on game-debate.com.

AMD Radeon R9 290 compare Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 GPU

Will that affect gaming performance?

Btw, can I use a 29" tv as monitor screen?
