are you going to overclock?

If so, get the k version, else you are fine with a non k cpu.

GTX980 Ti will work fine with a 750w but if you plan to sli in future, than best is to get a 1000 w psu

my theory is more PSU power is always good. You dont want to get the "just enough" which makes upgrading parts in future difficult. A PSU can also last for 7 years (the better ones) so why not just get a better PSU now?

Not going to overclock so a non-k cpu. Maybe a 1000w psu might be better for future.

So it is best I switch to i5-6600 and GTX 980TI?
I will be using 1440p monitor and not going to do video editing or design work.

Since no video editing or design work, the above requirements will be good enough to last you at least a couple of years. Can always SLI GTX 980 Ti in the future. Gaming needs more graphical power than processing power.

What monitor do you plan to get?

How is the sabertooth so far for you? Stable during OC and is the board more cooler?

I go for the 5 years warranty. The armour helps to reduce the dust on the mb. Idle temp around 38 to 42 degree C normal room temp.

icic thx.
jus noticed the specs put ddr4 2400/2133 and not higher - very strange...

DDR4 base is 2133. Every mb has its own recommended xmp. Sabertooth recommended xmp is 2400. Not really much real difference between base and oc frequency.

oh i mean strange becus if u peruse other z170 boards' mem specs (any brand), usually will see 2133/2400/..../3xxx even for the more "budget" ones...
and it can go above 2400 no problem, so i find it strange...

even if u can go up tp 2400 mhz, is the performance difference worth it? odds are you wont really see a difference (imho) in your day to day usage. really more for the enthusiasts

i dunno why u post abt this...
i only mention its strange to find them so modest abt this spec, when actually it can go beyond 2400. usually mktg would boast abt things
esp when targeting pple willing to fork out nearly half a grand for mb (u say not enthusiast?!)
