Have totally no clue about DIY-ing my own PC. Just randomly put a few specs together. Can anyone tell me if this will work?

CPU+MB: Intel Core i7-5930k + Asus X99 Deluxe
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB 1600MHz X 2
GPU: Asus GTX 970 4GB STRIX DCUII
SSD: Any 256/512 SSD
HDD: Any 2TB HDD
ODD: ASUS 24X CD/DVD Writer
PSU: Seasonic X-850 850W
CASE: Corsair Obsidian 450D
OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 64-bit OEM

Using mainly work (Adobe CS) and gaming (WoW, Battlefield, Assassin's Creed, Watchdogs etc.)

Not sure if i'm missing any parts or anything for sound or networking. Appreciate any help.

Thanks!!

Just asking if you are aware that only ddr4 memory can run on x99 platform. And i have not seen dual kits locally. Mostly quad ram kits.

i7 mainly for the hyperthreading, if you using for video editing or rendering then there's a very big diff.

pure gaming just get an i5... but if your coy sponsoring might as well just get the best :s13:

Although i know that your coy is funding the pc. But i doubt you have researched enough on the components highlighted bold above.

X99 Chipset is costly and could cost you almost a brand new gaming rig.

It was meant to be used for rendering purposes and also catering for more gpu to be used in order to game at 4k resolutions.

If you have no intentions to game at 4k gaming resolutions, then you wont need a x99 chipset nor uber expensive DDR4 rams.

850w is totally not necessary for your rig. You are powering nothing powerful out there. GTX970 also do not consume much power, together with your CPU, the most you are gonna need is a 500w PSU.

Combining aesthetics, and overall high performance parts together since you can get fundings from your coy. I recommend an SLI rig with a good high res monitor,

MSI Z97 Gaming 9 + i7-4790k ~ $813
Avexir Blitz1.1 MSI GAMING DRAGON 1600Mhz 16GB(2x8GB) Red Heatsink with Red LED ~ $285 (mynextcomonline)
WD Purple 2tb AV ~ $123
Samsung EVO 250gb ~ $159 (Lazada, get additional 10% off when purchasing it with Mastercard on monday)
MSI GTX980 4gb Twin Frozr V Gaming x2 SLI ~ $1890
Seasonic X850 850w 80+ Gold Fully Modular PSU ~ $219
Corsair Obsidian 750D ~ $208
LG DVD Drive ~ $21
Windows 8.1 OEM ~ $120
Corsair H100i Hydro ~ $150
Dell U2713HM 27inch eIPS Panel 1440p WQHD Monitor ~ $705

Total ~ $4693. Buy at tradepac unless stated. DIY.
