Both Gan Siow Huang and the old man in red shirt are not to be blamed.

The organizers of the event are to be blamed.

From the video, it is obvious the old man in red shirt quickly inserted himself into the retinue of Kwong Wai Siew welcome committee, waiting to greet Gan Siow Huang.

This should NOT be allowed.

What if the old man in red shirt is not innocent. But had a violent intent?

This is EXACTLY HOW 李在明 and Shinzo Abe got attacked. 李在明 was stabbed in the neck with a knife. Shinzo Abe was killed.

Gan Siow Huang was stunned and did not know how to react.

The Kwong Wai Siew welcome committee acted like they did not know what was going on. They did not explain to GSH nor did they intervene.

In this case, the old man in red shirt was just an ordinary guy who wanted the glamour of the moment to shake hands with a MP or VIP. He did not mean any harm.

Yes true she came alone but she had a trusted group waiting for her, RC, grassroots etc.
And don't forget she was a BG in the SAF and also once a Chief of staff. Unless she was a paper general it is hard to believe she cannot handle an old man herself.

She couldn't have known who was in the 'line up' to receive her, thus it's purely judgemental.
