Gap between “heatsink” and GPU

Hi to all the pros here,

I can’t help but to notice this little oddly shaped gap between the “heat sink” and my GPU. Is this normal?

That is the end of the card where the heatsink is protruding out and the heatsink is not in contact with the card at this portion. It is ok.

I know how the sink look like on the graphic card, but TS's picture shown an uneven mounting, tilting 2mm or more at the base with the top almost touch the PCB.

I noticed from the reviewer’s photo, there’s the same oddly shape gap, “dislodgement” from the GFX Card. I guess there’s nothin much to worry about?

During idle it’s about 40-50 degrees, gaming, max 70. Thanks for helping to post the photo. Appreciate it.

Only way to know if the mount is good. You need to take out the hsf and see the thermal paste spread zone.

This happens often and with many heatpipe coolers actually.

The fins are actually not directly connected to the base plate which presses against the GPU. Instead, the fins are only mechanically connected to the base via heatpipes, and heatpipes are usually bent into shape.

But why listen to us, you can always verify yourself. Real science enjoys being peer-reviewed.
