How is what TS described equivalent to infighting?

CSM unexpectedly contesting for WP sec-gen role is infighting.

MIW splitting up the work and having the older politicians make way for the younger ones reflect proper resource and succession planning.

If ALL senior members go orgy at the same rally, some people will say LW buay zai.

If ALL older politicians dun retire and we end up with 4 SMs and 4 DPMS, some people will say LW buay zai.
LW originally ish oredi buay zai. He was not the first choice candidate.

Not even the second choice candidate.

He was the compromise candidate.

Its not easy to remember new candidates whose parents are normal people like taxi drivers and housewives. Unless they say or do something epic.

On he other hand, if the candidate come out and say my laobei is some big shot, confirm leave big impression.

No lah he didn't want to be considered initially.

Only HSK, CCS and OYK put themselves out to be selected by their fellow ministers and HSK received the most votes, followed by CCS and OYK was last.

When HSK decided to drop out, LW was asked to step up and be considered by his peers.

So a new round commenced with LW, CCS and OYK, and LW received an overwhelming 15 votes while CCS and OYK got 2 votes each cannot even smell the car oil.

Faction fighting. After tharman and ah teo gone, more power struggle within pap will occur.

Contemporary Divisions (2010s–Present)Recent analyses suggest the PAP is not monolithic. Differences in outlook have emerged, particularly within the cabinet and among elites:Reformist vs.

Conservative Leanings: Figures like Tharman Shanmugaratnam, known for progressive economic and social views, contrast with more security-focused or traditionalist members like Teo Chee Hean. These are not formal factions but reflect differing instincts within the party.

Fourth-Generation (4G) Leadership Struggles: The 4G leadership transition has exposed tensions. For example, Heng Swee Keat’s decision to step aside as prime minister-designate in 2021 highlighted competition and distrust among 4G leaders, with no clear successor to Lee Hsien Loong. Some argue this has intensified factionalism, though it remains understated due to party discipline.

is like that every where. KMT after chiang kai sek died also weaken very jia lak.

I read the linked article twice. Could not find any sentence where LW said he didn't want to be considered initially.

You are not wrong. There is infighting.
One of the main reasons why this elections mean so much to LW.
It will essentially cement his position in the CEC.
You ask me, he is up against the old guards, and old guards don't like new ways.
