Of cos u r singapore government and singaporeans voted for you and not malaysian, pinoys, PRC or tom d1ck or harry..
It is right that as a govt, you must support own local people and come out with policies to help own people.

Same experience at the zoo. Its funny to see that the prc are the civilized ones, at least they move out of the way to let people take pics, while the other kind shamelessly push their way to the front and block others seeing the exhibits, whole family take pics multiple times with the animals 1 by 1 even though there's a queue forming
