‘We hope for a positive surprise’: SPP’s Steve Chia

Singapore People’s Party secretary-general Steve Chia arrived at the counting centre at Raffles Girls’ School just before polls closed at 8pm.

Speaking to the media, the Bishan-Toa Payoh GRC candidate said: “We hope it will be a short night for everybody. We hope that it will be a positive surprise for us.”

From now till results are out, candidates will typically drop in on the different counting centres to check on the progress of vote counting.

never underestimate the power of new sinkies

Maybe someone mentioned this before but I feel that new citizens should have a MOP period before allowing to vote for the 1st time.
That came up after seeing the NC TikTok about her voting experience. Didn’t seem very serious about it and have to think who to vote for at the station? Not do “homework” before that?
