The Sengkang WP team, comprising Mr Louis Chua, Associate Professor Jamus Lim, Ms He Ting Ru and Mr Abdul Muhaimin Abdul Malik, distributed its manifesto to the morning crowd at Rivervale Plaza.

The team, accompanied by more than 10 volunteers, was greeted by occasional cheers of “Workers’ Party!” from the public.

During the team members’ interactions, Prof Lim was heard telling one resident that “we’ll do our best”.

Retired aerospace engineer Peter Khoo, 71, who has lived in Sengkang for more than 20 years, spoke to Mr Chua and said he feels “the hammer will take (Sengkang)” in this election.

Criscrossed Sengkang yesterday with visits at Compassvale South Gate and Beacon with lunch chats with residents at Rivervale Plaza.

The Team and I had a cheeky little cendol break there to stave off the heat before we went back at it again.

Happy to discuss national issues with residents, as well as address constituency issues which we have been working on.

GE2025: 'Tough decision' to contest Sengkang GRC again, but the journey is not over, says PAP's Lam Pin Min

Dr Lam Pin Min, a former Senior Minister of State who was part of the losing People's Action Party team for Sengkang GRC in the 2020 election, described himself as the "underdog" in the upcoming contest for the opposition-held ward.

They really knock on doors? Well done!

I saw a video on another thread in EDMW,of a girl putting notes on people's door that visits were made, but no one was home. Erm, the girl was not wearing party colors, and did not knock on doors. She looked more like a flyer distributor.

Nice that this party makes actual visits.

Jamus Lim on WP's medium to longer term plans

At a doorstop on April 28, the WP team said education reform – which includes smaller class sizes and later school start times – remains one of its biggest priorities.

During house visits today, we met residents trying out pickleball in the courts - 5 siblings with their plus ones! We had previously spoken to their mother, who shared her concerns about the rising cost of living.

Terence and I tried our hand at playing pickleball! I wish we could say we were naturals at it but we clearly have a long way to go (we usually play tennis). We did our best!

It's always lovely to see families use public spaces in such meaningful ways. We hope to keep working to create such spaces that foster community, health and happiness!

WP Sengkang team is a very good team. I wish they were my MPs, but I am in MP GRC so not so fortunate this round. They are humble and approachable, and they make sure their town council is well managed.

He Ting Ru takes a break from house visits to play pickleball with residents
https://www.straitstimes.com/live-singapore-election-nomination-day-2025?ref=ge2025

WP’s candidate for Sengkang GRC He Ting Ru took a brief break from her house visits on Monday to play pickleball with some residents.

In an Instagram post, Ms He said that the group comprised five siblings and their partners. She knew the siblings’ mother, who had previously shared her concerns about the rising cost of living.

Ms He was seen in a video serving the ball to her husband Terence Tan, who had left the opposition party to focus on his career and family.

She said: “It’s always lovely to see families use public spaces in such meaningful ways. We hope to keep working to create such spaces that foster community, health and happiness!”
