领军人民行动党淡滨尼集选区的社会及家庭发展部长马善高说，如果行动党当选，将委任交通部兼永续发展与环境部高级政务次长马炎庆为淡滨尼市镇理事会主席。

马善高星期三（4月30日）走访淡滨尼，接受媒体采访时说，原淡滨尼市镇会主席朱倍庆如今在单选区竞选。“他非常熟悉淡滨尼尚育区，也会继续把淡滨尼尚育区的发展纳入淡滨尼市镇的整体发展中。”

为了让朱倍庆能把时间与精力好好放在淡滨尼尚育区，马善高说，如果行动党在淡滨尼集选区当选，他有意委任马炎庆为淡滨尼市镇会主席。他也说，马炎庆熟悉淡滨尼林荫一带。

马炎庆受访时说，过去10年左右，身为淡滨尼集选区议员的他，先后接手管理了约七个预购组屋项目，多数位于淡滨尼林荫一带。“一般上，新组屋区刚建成都会有一些比较棘手、要解决的问题。通过这几年来的经验、同居民的交流，以及和政府机构的交涉，我们已经解决了很多问题。我希望能够以市镇会主席身份，继续解决居民的这些问题。”

Faisal never say that at all. The conclusion came from the public who felt that it is the main reason he going there because it is no secret that Masagos is rather unpopular among the Malay community in Tampines.
Yes, apparently Faisal polled the highest votes in the Aljunied Team at Kaki Bukit.
