Current SG is at where it is due to 1.) British Infrastrucuture + 2.) 1G's Ministers' long-term planning.

There is only how long one can continue to credit PAP for the 1G Cabinet's hard work.

Is PAP the same PAPA back then?

Why do you think TCB said that PAP has lost its way?

Why do you think Toh Chin Chye and Devan Nair both disagreed with PAP's later policies?

Even David Marshall which served PAP briefly later disagreed with the ways they handled things, same goes for Ong Teng Cheong during his presidency reign.

Ngian Tong Dow criticised PAP publicly and Tommy Koh now is a well-known PAP critic.

LKY before he passed away, could sense the possibility of PAP losing power.

There is only how long one could credit PAP for the original success.

Putin also did very well for Russia back then when he came to power, Russia was practically a mess when he became Head of state but he managed to put everything in place.

But subsequently, he undid his good work with his insistence of wanting to bring back Soviet Union thus he invaded Ukraine and as a result caused harm to not just Ukraine but his own countrymen.

He sent Russia's economy on a downward spiral and sacrificed hundred of thousands of lives thus far.

Should he be given a pass just because of his original good work?

We can all agree to disagree, you have your opinion and I have mine. Come polling day, we all vote according to our conscience. Everyone only holds 1 vote
Nowadays TCB talking nonsense. He knows nothing about 102 economics. WP is more level minded party.

can never understand lmao people like them. well well well
Just follow the path which you think is right, only natural for people to have different opinions. As LMW mentioned, contrast of ideas may not lose to group think.

Come election day, everyone shall vote on whom they think is the better candidate (or better party). No right or wrong.

What he did is correct imo, TCB is a doctor and thus economics is Not his forte. He should delegate it to the SMEs like LMW, who himself comes from a economist background and has decades of related working experience.

If healthcare then he will be the SME and speak on it, like what he did during Covid 5 years ago.

That's the problem. He is spreading falsehood. Is the trickle down effects to consumers.

This is just a start.... Read. This is real world happening. Worst is yet to come, as long as Trump firing. Have clear mind before you write. Don't people laugh

He didnt spread any falsehood, but you are on him. He suggest economists like lmw to further analyse the impact, instead of outright triggering fear. Nothing more from him in the vid.

Us tariff was expected, but what was unexpected is the rates imposed, and especially to china. Singapore is base 10pct, which is the lowest other than the exempted. Even if there is impact, sg wont be the worst affected. Jamus addressed this in wp press conference while singapore will definitely be impacted, it may not be as bad as how lawrence wong depicted.

the people who will be hit the hardest is the us citizens, not china, not singapore, unless you want to have a made in china iphone rather than made in india.

before you want anyone to read, maybe u should try educating readers how tariffs work, if you truly understand, than spreading fear.

Get to know our candidate - Alexis Dang 滕
沛源

Alexis has a diverse professional background with 6.5 years in finance, having served as a Relationship Manager in Wealth Management and Private Banking.

In the past 8.5 years, Alexis transitioned into the technology sector, working in ad tech, where she currently leads a team of Business Development professionals.

Her role involves driving supply expansion in APAC and strategic partnerships with media owners, aiming to support journalism by driving traffic and revenue growth for premium publishers.

Alexis wants to support a credible opposition that can provide effective checks and balances—ensuring that no government holds a blank cheque. While a dominant ruling party may offer certain efficiencies, it also runs the risk of creating an echo chamber. Alexis believes it’s crucial to foster healthy discourse built on diversity of thoughts, experiences, and perspectives in Parliament—so that the formulated policies truly reflect the priorities of Singaporeans from all walks of life.

Alexis has worked hard for everything she has but has also come to recognise she couldn’t have done it alone. She’s a product of family, community, and a system that showed her kindness, support, and generosity—empowering her to live a life of passion and purpose. Now, she wants to give back—to be a voice for fairness, equal opportunity, and social mobility, so that every child, regardless of their starting point, has a real shot at realising their fullest potential—and in doing so, contributing to a more diverse, resilient, and vibrant Singapore.
