mmmm... means after 10 transactions, cannot use Samsung pay anymore? unless got Samsung phones (newer models)?

seems like not a practical feature.

From my understanding, you NEED a samsung phone to take advantage of samsung pay. You set samsung pay up on your phone then sync with your watch.

Subsequently the watch can function by itself, such as music player and Samsung pay. Samsung pay works even without tethering to phone, but the app will only generate 10 tokens for 10 transactions before it requires to be paired with the phone.

For Apple watch, it is also the same logic and apple pay works without a phone as well, for a limited number of transaction..

when you say pair with the phone... it requires the phone to be installed with Samsung pay as well? or you meant pairing in normal Bluetooth mode? trying to understand the pairing method as I'm not using a Samsung phone nor a nfc enabled phone.

samsung pay on gear s3 is a companion app. which means, to use that, your phone must be a samsung phone supported by samsung pay. itself, standalone, does not work.

based on the website of gear s3, it is explicitly stated that some features of gear s3 may not work without a samsung phone, while most will work on an android phone.

the purpose of gear s3 is to complement the experience of using samsung flagship devices while it is not being marketed as a standalone device.

where can get black 22mm stainless steel watch bands? want to pair it with the frontier which i think will be nicer than silicone bands.
