I rather save the money from subscribing to ElderShield (and the renamed CareShield) and pay for Medishield IP upgrade instead!
ElderShield at its current form is a complete waste of money and insurers are making great profits, laughing all the way to the bank!
CareShield is as bad with their premiums jacked up by almost >50% over next 5 years and starting to pay earlier at age 30 (instead of 40).

Then what plan to subscribe to fund old age disability for life?

Yeah man. Though 1 famous minister said that $1k monthly is enough to buy a hdb flat.

It's possible to scrap by with a low wage but it'll be really tough for sure.

Just for fun I'm going to try and work it out
Cheapest rental room (1 to a room) I see online is around 300ish a month? (Really small maid's room or some old room)
Public transport monthly would be around $90
Food would be $300? Can go lower if you tried
Utilities like mobile plan $20
Household and toiletries maybe $20
Buffer $50
Total would be $780ish?

If earn little then harder to do this.

Isn't careshield different thing from IP? One is cannot do 3 things out of 6, another is hospital coverage? Correct me if I am wrong, too many shields make my brain shield confused. =:p

Yeah. Wow you purchasd a paid app? I'm planning on using the toshl finance app and transferring the stuff over to an excel if I manage to keep at it for 3 months

Gotta have discipline to update it

Bought mobile expense app, but didn't follow thru it faithfully
