I am long Australia via Asia Pacific ETFs but as I want to own the big names in the ASX - Banks/Telstra/Wesfarmers and not their REITs.

Valuation of australian reits not attractive to me.

Some HK property counters that also receive income from property ownership but also are developers are more attractive than Link REIT (Swire / Kerry).

New financial products are often launched at the peak of the cycle =:p

Ya, starhill chart looks good. Slowly climbing. Far from new high so got room to climb. Targeting 0.89? Yield looks ok but is increasing according to Dyhalt.

Dear all,

Would just like to humbly seek your advice on calculating the gearing ratio for REITs. From my understanding, it is : Total Debts/Total Assets.

Eg, for Starhill Global, in SGXCafe, from 30 June 2016, their gearing is 1.1/3.2 = 34.375%. However, would just like to check on this, like what is the difference between total debts and total liabilities, and whether I calculated the gearing ratio correctly.

Thank you all!

Debt = borrowings
Liabilities = $ you owe
