Thanks, always appreciated your analysis.

Though I feel it's a waste sharing your work here, cos people here have a rather fixed mindset, esp if they have a vested interest. Ohers will nitpick on your analysis for all the small things, which you have seen and will be seeing more of.

Here and sharejunction as well.. only good news and praises will be positively received.
Haha, you really quite daring to point out that. I am new here, today is the first try.

I just checked from stock cafe and yahoo finance, for CDLHT, both closing on 31 Dec 2020 and opening on 4 Jan 2021 are at S$ 1.27, the same price. I think you are using the adjusted price from Yahoo Finance? For my post, 2021 open price = 4 jan 2021 open price.

SGX website strangely shows 1.27 on 31 Dec 2020, shooting up to $1.31 on 4 Jan 2021, then dropping to $1.24 on 5 Jan.

Edit: Interactive Brokers TWS gives the same data as Yahoo finance rights adjusted prices - $1.22 on 31/12, $1.26 on 4/1/21...

I don't know which is correct but my feeling is that yahoo's rights adjusted price should be the one to follow?
The 1 is close price, 1.31 is closing for 4 jan and 1.24 is closing for 5 jan.

I also think you have done an incredible job creating and maintaining the data.
Anyway, users of the data/insight are ultimately responsible for them.
Thanks for compliment. I have always try to be neutral and only show data and fact. Though I find often most people prefer to read post that telling them which to buy/sell and at what Price, haha.

yup 31 Dec was 1.27, 4 Jan shot up by 4 cents to 1.31, 5 Jan dropped 7 cents, quite strange price behaviour for the start of the year if everything else didn't move much.

Just take everything on online forms with a pinch of salt, same with my comments, haha. Some posts here I don't even understand cos it's not phrased in proper eng.

Anyway, just wanted to support you. What your article shows are just facts, really nothing to nitpick unless figures are grossly inaccurate. In choosing a starting date, small variations of a few days seems inconsequential to me. After all, when quoting the YTD performance of a stock, it is also against a single day as point reference.

Interpretation is up to the reader really. Some reits may have had poor performance this year, but did not take into account how they held up well in the first year of covid. Some reits performed well this year, but that may be because they were terrible last year and rebounded (and whether they actually rebounded to the level before their dip matters too). All these are the reader's responsibility to look into.

Yeap, 2020 was a good year for MACFK counters, while 2021 was the good year for those small to mid cap - which share prices have been corrected in 2020. So can't just buy based on the yearly winner, coz normally winner is equating to high valuation, vice versa, should not just look down on small and mid cap REITs.

This i agree- The most successful merger was Frasers Logistics and Industrial Trust and Frasers Commercial Trust to create Frasers Logistics and Commercial Trust, completed at the height of the pandemic in April 2020.
