actually, hospitality and retail reits will huat this year because of major event happening this year (mid of 2015) - SEA Games. This will means that more tourist will come and it will cause impact on the overall market.

<<Not sure if I am right to do a correlation this way>>

Retail, yes, in a way. Hospitality wise, the athletes and officials will be housed here:

SEA Games Athletes And Officials Housed In "Village In The City" - Newsroom - Sport Singapore

Overall, with the weakening of the SGD against a basket of currencies, expect tourism dollars to be splurged here, as well as domestic shoppers going back to our retail malls due to the strengthening of the USD (ie more expensive online shopping).

yea, but for hospitality, I would refer to those spectators or tourist who come to view the sea games

Cambridge Industrial Trust recently has a distribution reinvestment plan whereby they are giving new units of their shares at an issue price of $0.6669.

Any insights on this?

If I don't need the cash, I try to subscribe when price is dirt cheap and at 52 week low or all-time low...not like 5 or 10% discount off 52 week high or all-time high. ;) This is after taking in the overall market sentiment on that sector the REIT is in, of course.

PS: $0.6669? Sign of the devil man... :s22:

You have forgotten to add in the impact of increased number of hotel rooms in 2015, its estimated to be about 5.6~6.0% increase in accommodations.=:p

It's a form they have to declare to SGX whenever their interests in the shares change. Usually it's either a buy or sell. In this case they were just issuing units as payment of the management fee.

CIT keep provide this reinvestment plan in the past few quarters. I did not calculate but basically the price is just < 2 cts below current market price. I think this is good, providing more choice for investors. Heard that most US stock provide such re-investment plan.
