Genting FAQ - Part 2

First time travelling to Genting after 10 years. Please advice me on the following qns:

1) Where to book hotel/transport ?

I went to cntown agency and ask 1 by 1 for hotel&tpt. Will I kanna Robert Carrot? The result I got back is very surprising. For 3d2n, price range from SGD110 - SGD280. Why like tt ? I am going at a non-peak period.

2) I got the old old blue/white genting card which is expired 4 years ago. Planning to do a new 1 this time. If want get benefits what do you advice is the best card to get? Or rather I can't choose because am a low spender?

3) I shortlisted a SGD200 for 3d2n Resort hotel (I think better than FW)with bus to and fro golden mile. Worth it ? Top up SGD20 for bus to stop at hotel itself, is the walk v far if no stop at hotel?

4) Too good to be true?.... Another quoted me SGD110 for FW with bus. How come so big different?

5) I saw someone say zhi char stall, do I need to pay for the van downhill? How much so I wont get carrot?

6) Is there a strawberry farm? Worth to go? Price?

7) I can't check Resort hotel rates online. But I see FW is about 50-65 per night. So I assume resort for 3d2n at resort is good enough?

8) Which agency do u guys usually go when book for genting package? Good coach and value price! wont chop carrot

Hi Exclusive, I will try to answer your qns.

1. I only book from 2 agencies for buses, 707 if I want cheap; Transtar if I want comfort. Both can be found at golden mile area. I only book transport, so I don't know market rate for hotel.Think the different chgs could be due to hotel, FW vs resort; some coaches also come with entertainment system. But 3d2n at FW can get for less than $100 during off peak.

2.Genting card only got 1 kind. Normal card, silver card, gold card, platinum card need to be offered by genting based on your gambling freq.

3.They will alight you at old town coffee, near to resort. I think it's worth it, otherwise you need to alight at mid mountain to take a feeder bus to FW and walk very far to resort.

4.FW vs resort very big difference. I don't stay in FW.

5. Van to mushroom garden FOC. Get ctc from hotel lobby.

7. Resort is good, rm is big and cleaner.

8. 707, heard WTS not bad too.

2) If u are sinkie, u can apply for silver card foc. just go to any genting reward counter inside casino

3) most tour coaches would drop u off at mushroom farm. every 30mins, got shuttle bus bring u to fw hotel lobby. transtar alight u at b5， resort hotel. (next to old town.)

If u want to go up, tell urself, lim pei want to WIN. lose rm100, hands off. Haha...

hi, I've never paid for hotels in Genting before, so can't comment. but resort is a 4 star hotel, much better than fwh. so 200 for 2 nights including coach is a fair price.

The wait for the shuttle is between 7 to 12 minutes. Not 30 minutes that long.

Last time I using green card only.

Ya u will get silver card but you need to maintain at least 200GP per annual in order to maintain the status if not you will be reverted back to the classic card.

FYI you can apply for free Tron SIM Card package, just go the machine and take a look.

Those members who have not redeemed your SIM cards, can do so at FW.

Just go to the machine to print out your redemption coupons, then go to the counter to redeem. Remember to bring your passport along for registration.

If you want, can also buy more cards to take home to your friends/family. Think I paid RM9 each the last time. Just note that these extra cards will be registered with your particulars too.

Ya...shouldnt be a problem with that...cos their system already had your record.

No need to pay anything...just tell them u didnt bring your card and you wanna upgrade to silver..

I told my friend that and he got the silver replacement or new card without any charges / deduct any points at all.

Done that early Oct this year ler

For my case, i lost my card & got a replacement card & they deduct 2 gp from my points.
