quick update on mushroom farm:
It has been flattened to rubble =(

BUT the restaurants are still around, mainly moved to Amber Court
Finally got to visit the infamous AC >_< after so many years of stories, it was an experience worth mentioning...

Its a 10min bumpy van ride up to AC, the eating places are very makeshift/basic, they just took over the empty shop lots there, placed tables and setup shop..
there are at least 3-4 eating houses there.
It maybe a long wait for the return van to come thou as the crowds were thin, and the place is abit hairy to wait around at night...but the security presence is clear visible thou...

#AC is not as scary as tot, its just old and tired...
reminds me of golden mile (the one with the cinema), just alot of empty shop spaces in various states of disarray =(
noted that alot lot construction workers staying there for the nearby worksites...

Thanks for updating us! so the transfer by van is free? Wait at where?

Actually u CAN use the kiosks even for special requests as per my last visit in Nov. U just need to seek help fr one of the assistants at the kiosks - the software of the kiosks are ever upgraded fr time to time - so it means there are changes fr time to time. There's a menu for u to choose which special requests u r opting for.

BUT u STILL hv to pay RM15 for the special requests (eg.single vs double bed request, etc..)..u will need to hv a credit card on standby for the RM15 deduction as well as for the early check-in surcharge. And btw - the surcharge for early check-in as of my last visit is NOT a FLAT charge of RM5 - there's a schedule/ table of how much u hv to pay according to the time. The earlier u request to check-in, the higher the surcharge will be as i mentioned in my previous posting.

ps: the kiosk normally is NOT AVAILABLE during the early hours of the morning - only open up for use AFTER 9am or 10am i think. But even after 10am, as i remember - the surcharge is still not as low as RM5.
I just came back on Sunday. It is rm5 when I check in at 9.30am. The machine accept cash.

Genting is a casino operator afterall...It is just like how you feed $ to the jackpot machines...hahaha

http://www.rwgenting.com/hotel/firstworld-hotel/ the early check in rates are stated here. The other time I checked the website few weeks ago, the charges stated on the were much higher. I guess they probably revised it after all the complains( There are pictures posted on the fb of the huge crowd at the lobby).

Any idea normally around what time the queueing will start on weekdays?

if got room then best pay RM5 at 6am n get some zzz, the queue at mid day is bad now due to school holidays and they took out most of the chairs in the queue area. or even better just get a room the day before so can check in 3-4am n skip the queue altogether....

I normally book it via the website. But it will cost you 3% extra for the administrative fee. But for me, it just save the time of travelling down to golden mile to book the ticket. What a few dollars compared to the amount you going to spend on gambling? LOL

Note: For booking via website, only boarding place is Golden Mile whereas you can choose to board at clarke quay, jurong east etc if you book via their outlet.

Agree. In fact, during my last trip - i complained to my host & customer service that it's not the way to treat regular customers (aka "cash-cow")...it's not as tho we r one time visitor like a tourist. Short term they gain a little bit but long term they will lose big time fr local & SG market. In fact, i think they r having 2nd thoughts now abt those surcharges - 1 mth ago they were imposing ridiculously high surcharges but now seems fr some bro's feedbacks they r only charging RM5 only - i think they r taking feedbacks seriously....they sent survey forms via email as well. Luckily my next stay is at Resort Hotel.

Am I able to reserve a seat location like online booking if I book at their shop?

Drivers can advise the route to genting if driving?
or you all just follow google maps?:s11:

It's quite easy, after the toll at KL, keep to the left and lookout for the Cheras exit and go out. Keep driving for about 10-20 mins depending on traffic condition without exiting till you see Genting Highland signboard and follow all the way.

i wonder after the renovations at genting are done, will they improve the service of the casino as well? the glasses for beverages dirty, the drinks taste like shiat, the grounds filled with heavy smoke smell :(
