Hi guys,

My friend is bringing his folks to Genting and he wants to book Resort Hotel as the rooms are better than first world. But he is also concerned that they cannot walk the long distance from Sky Avenue to Resort Hotel to and fro every day as their legs are not good.

Would there be cabs from First World to Resort Hotel or would there be cars on Grab to do so?
i think those shuttle cabs at rm10 still right?

Early this months, had stayed twice in Superior Deluxe, they are slightly bigger better than Deluxe Room with 2 single seat couch chairs, given that you WONT get those UNIT-facing-UNIT rooms, instead, u get mountain view or facing Highland Hotel/Genting Grand.

Highland Hotel Premier is definitely better than Resort.
Resort Hotel rooms almost unchanged. YES, its definitely a long long long long walk from Sky Bus Terminal to Resort Hotel. Good Luck.. to their legs...

The only plus point the the BIGGER Store 168 and Lobby's Dessert stall and the 24-hrs B5 Old Town Coffee cafe.

Talks about hotel shuttle buses suddenly quiet... early this year, Genting talked about shuttle bus between old and new casino/hotel.. but now this piece of info un-searchable in their web.

true in a sense but some old folk need toilet break once 1.5-2h

anyway now my 1st choice is private transport if 2 pax
I don't mind toilet break which is <15 mins. the shopping times need to wait 30 mins or more! Another concern is the shop selling price not cheap. Possible to "chop" ppl head?

Which mode of transport is better?

Bus from Singapore
Plane to KLIA > KL > Genting
Typical scenarios
1) Coach Bus 2-way WTS S$75 6hrs/trip
2A) Jetstar + Aerobus (KLIA-Awana Skyway) + CableCar S$70~90 + RM70 + RM30 3hrs/trip + 1~2 hrs waiting
2B) Jetstar + Grab S$70~90 + 2 * RM150~300 4hrs/trip
3) Private MPV Taxi S$700 4-5hrs/trip

PS: no frill flights, handcarry luggage.

Seems like coach is better and avoid lugging around luggage

Super Peak Season (Weekends of School & Public Holidays) and Peak Season (School & Public Holiday) - take Plane. You will skip the jams at both customs. Of course, you may still encounter slow traffic nearer to the highway exit to RWGenting.

Non Peak - take car/private taxi or coach (in those order).

Thanks for all the replies.
My friend will likely book superior deluxe room at First World Hotel as cost is similar to Resort Hotel.

Very often, got $ also cannot buy. They often wun sell these rooms to non-gamblers as these are among the most popular for regulars that go up to gamble.

I have been staying in either World Club Room or Superior Deluxe ever since they shrunk Genting De Casino. Too far for me to walk from GG or HH since I only patronize SkyAvenue Casino these days.

Thanks for the heads up.
I just checked for him and there are still rooms on the official Genting site on the dates he is planning to go.

Summarize in a table

OptionProsCons
CoachCheapestInflexible in timings, only morning and night buses
Flight + busSlightly more flexible than coach in timing (can choose flight timing)Need to change modes of transport, not as cost efficient as coach
Flight + tripSlightly faster than flight + bus, less hassleNeed to change modes of transport, even less cost efficient
Private MPV TaxiMost flexible in terms of time and stopsMost expensive
