Was in Genting over the last weekend. Wanted to buy the Fortune Package at members area but the counter guy tell me I need to change my Silver card to Gold card first within the Skycasino in level 2. Then after I queued 30min at level 2, the counter staff tell me can downgrade to Silver but need to go back to do outside Members service -.-" So I upgrade to Gold since already at the counter. Then go out to level 2 to buy the NM Credits....go back in Level 3 Cashier to pay.... Only to realize the credits can only play in Level 3.

Just for awareness....you can actually change to Gold card using the machines at B1 Bus Longue or the members services at the Coffee Terrace area.

Silver can change to Gold at Kiosk as long as SG citizen ? Wow.

Erm... My friends that went even those that didn't gamble in the casino got upgraded to gold. I heard new signups for Singaporean also automatic gold. You can check your status from the app to confirm.

Yeah, I am not sure if I met new staff who advised me wrongly. Can't they see from the system that I'm already gold and print out the slip for me? Instead of making me run in n out, up and down the casino.

Yeah Gold members is only eligible to purchase RM1,000 package. Just for a breakfast which I queued 40min at Level 1 Good Luck cafe. Too much hassle.

Thanks for sharing, Edwin. Sadly, Fortune Package only offers free meal now, instead of TP (Tier Points) + NN (Non-Negotiable Credits) + Meal during pre-COVID.

Anyone ask for membership profile ID to be changed from passport number to NRIC number so that not affected whenever change passport ?

You still need the passport to self-checkin kiosk machine.
Unless you are Msian citizen, then can scan using their ic.

Foreigner scan passport.

Based on my bad self-check-in kiosk experience. I concluded this based on requirement priority.

1) You need a passport with a working NFC feature.
If this NFC not working, the check-in process 100% fail, need manual override by the staff in special queue next to Kiosks.

i renew my passport after covid travel to malaysia was lifted in 2022, and I had 7 failure attempt to use self-check-in machine, their ground staff said my Gold Card having old passport data even I had changed it 3 times in my first 7 visits since 2022.
On my 7th visit, I went to the self-service membership machine to scan my passport.. and realised they using NFC, and my new passport was unreadable.. then I realise the REAL CULPRIT is NFC chip on my passport.
It was not working.

I spend another 70-80 SGD to renew my passport AGAIN... and it had been working in all self-check-in kiosk ever since.
Use your phone NFC feature to scan your passport.. if cannot detect.. means not working.
If can scan, but unreadable data.. its considered ok, as some encyption thingy for sensitive data.


2) You need to have a valid passport, the NFC scan extract info to check passport expiry if valid, if not, u need assistance. They need to verify your identity in person.

So I was wondering if update membership ID with our NRIC will avoid this issue in future. Because I am going in Dec and need to change passport once I am back because my passport expires in Jul next year. Hoping to avoid issues for future trip.

If use app to checkin will be digital key. But if I stay in Triple room, how will the other 2 person access the room ?

Suggest you check it out with the Genting Rewards Guest Service Counter, local at Sky Casino level 2, when you are there this December. Best to hear it from the goat's mouth. Good luck, Bro!

PS: Paiseh... I have never opted for digital key so far as I always stayed in the casino until my HP is totally flat. Too lazy to bring power bank(s) too.

Since its quite easy to check in via Kiosk.. more options..
the self check in app probably used by No-frills visitor to check-in to available rooms when too many crowds during school holidays or long weekends there are low room availability before 3pm.

Not every time when u reach there 12-3pm the room are available. Rainy days, those returning visitor will delay their own transport departure late.

This weekends I am going ther e, I got 2 Superior Deluxe rooms for my family.
I hope to get high floor, scenic view, adjoining rooms.

High floor = cooler, less condenser/generator noise, elevator less waiting time when u are first few passenger going down.

Likely I will join the traditional manual queue to make this request of adjoining room. Very likely to check in my luggages at hotel storage while we wait for the rooms if no availability.

Joining the queue is a brilliant idea. We requested the staff to help us match 2 adjacent rooms previously too. Tipped both of them MYR20 each. Have a safe and enjoyable trip.

I can't remember whether were we presented with options when we check in via our Genting App previously (probably not, I think). Here is the video if you do the manual check at the Resorts World Genting First World Hotel Express Check-in Kiosk. Have a look!

Usually 7.30pm to 8pm. My 12.16pm bus on the past Sunday skipped the local products store totally and reached the Malaysian customs around 6.15pm.

Toilet break and for the coach drivers to take the otar orders, as well as probably commissions from local products store. The next toilet break about 2.5hrs after departure from the local products store.
