talk about waste of money, the tiny China militarized islands are the ultimate. At zero hour plus 5 minutes, the unmoving targets will be hit by a few dozen gps-guided 2000 pound bombs each, and if not enough, another wave then another wave. the small air squadron on each and air defenses will be overwhelmed immediately. complete waste of money, its like buying a non-moving carrier.

at least you have training for the ships if they sail here from europe and then conduct exercises.

If they go by the WWII design, then it is a big fat sitting duck/target.

They need to modernise it and shrink it down to a modern warship with all the up to date tech and weaponry.

what China could have done is move people there to stay like build hotels or residences. and sneak a few radars and some troops in.

Another reason and could be the real reason y they are so quiet recently is those artificial islands are badly ravaged by the elements and are sinking… they can’t stake their claim of having a landmass anymore
