On another note, i am still very reserved about AMD crossfire setups recommendation due to persistently high frame variance even with frame pacing enhancement.

Well the current drivers with frame pacing I would say it did improved a lot. The frame variance have been reduced a lot. This is for what I know as of now just experience it with bf4. Have yet to see other applications if it is noticeable or not.

Still far from what Nvidia has to offer for the experience, so i'd strongly suggest the Nvidia way even though graphics cad value preposition isn't quite there...

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but how does it work if we ask fortran to help build a rig?

Should we get the components ourselves and let him assemble for a fee, or just tell him what set up we want and he'll take care of everything? I'm sure he's doing this for a living too so how to take a cut if the assembly fee is a couple of ten bucks?

Or will he charge a bigger margin on top of the prices that appear on the receipts?

Just tell him what setup you want. He will recommend. Probably decent specs anyways. And the price, definitely worth it.
