Dear all,

I have an old Macbook Pro 15" (Mid 2010) which I am currently using and I am exploring getting an external display.

I will like the external monitor to be similar to the resolution of an iMac. Looking at 24" or similar.

Are there any users of Dell Monitors around and can provide feedback? Thanks!

I've a mid-2010 i7 MBP but have yet to use it with a external monitor. I have the monitor, I have the cable in it package but have not plugged it all together.

That being said, I have used Dell monitors with an older MBP (2008) and they were fine with what I was using them for. I would not hesitate to buy another one. Others on here will chime in with which models are better and so on but my general rule of thumb with Dell monitors is, the more $$$ the better the monitor.

Dell U2713HM. Runs at full 2560 x 1440 with mini display port to display port cable. HDMI will run at 1920 x 1200.

My setup is using mini DP to DP for extending my iMac to the Dell monitor. A separate HDMI runs from my xbox360 to my Dell monitor.
