I’m thinking about getting my first camera

And I’m looking at the x-t100 and the x-t20

I have a question
is the 15-45 lens good enough, because that’s the lens that the camera comes with

Is it a good deal?

"Good enough" is relative.
Even a phone is good enough for most things nowadays, so the only person that can ans this qs is yourself.

What do you wanna do with it and are you sure a phone cant do it?

Usually as far as 1st camera goes, or especially for those starting photography, my advise would to always be to get 2nd hand or something cheap.
Cos no point to get something expensive only to find out youre not into it and have to go thru the trouble of selling it sometime down the road at a reduced price.

There are a lot of relatively new DSLRs on Carousell at unbelievably low prices.
With many sellers going for hand phone cameras and ditching their DSLRs, it is nice to pick up a 2nd hand DSLR to learn proper photography.

IMHO.
It will be a good deal if it serves your purpose for the next 5 years,

Some tips
a) see if the kit lens is "wide" or "tele" enough for your needs.
b) look for a physical camera and simulate taking a photo with it. E.g, small hands may prefer large cameras or large hands may prefer small cameras.

My experience since yesteryears when I travel for leisure.

Before
Samsung Note I / Canon S90 / Nikon D90
- The mobile camera cannot make it. S90 mainly indoors especially indoor low-light.

Now
Samsung Note10+ / Nikon D7100
- Note10+ replaces the Canon S90 - simplicity. Note10+ wider angle but less zoom.

P.S. Please try to buy the first camera as if you are buying the last.

Apsc DSLR will most likely lose out to the mirrorless system in the years to come.
End up only FF format remaining.

IMO for brand new, will get local set for warranty and peace of mind.
15-45 kit lens is about 22-68mm in full frame, it is fine for general use..

That's exactly what I did.

Never owned a camera in my life (and I'm in my 50's) except those olden days disposable with film inside type. When phones came with cameras, that's all I've been using all along to take pictures.

Somehow got fascinated with photography during this ** period.

Decided to get a used Sony a7II from Carousell to start learning and practicing. It's quite old and the cosmetic condition is not the best. Paid $1200 and the seller threw in 2 cheap Rokinon lenses (24mm f2.8 + 16mm f2.8).

If after a while, I get bored of it, I'm guessing I won't lose too much money.

After about a month with it, I can say that despite the camera being 4-5 years old now, I will not be outgrowing it any time soon. The camera is definitely better than this complete newbie. I can see myself using it quite happily for another few years, unless I suddenly go into sports photography (highly doubtful).

Of course a month later, I've also acquired a Zeiss 55mm f1.8 lens and a couple more batteries. I guess Gear Acquisition Syndrome (GAS) is well and alive.

Now I have a few photos that I'm quite proud of, after shooting I'm guessing a few thousand pics.

A welcome side effect: I look better than everyone else in Zoom meetings, haha...

It depends what u want to shoot...

Wide angle lens - for landscape
Standard lens - street, portrait etc
Telephone lens - landscape, portrait
Macro lens - close up (flowers, insects, portrait)

Personally i prefer prime lens over zoom lens. It trained me to be a better photographer.

Fujifilm user too. I am gear freak... owned the following lenses:

14mm f2.8
18mm f2 (my wife uses this lens more)
23mm f2 (my fav focal length and go-to lens )
35mm f1.4 (my wife uses this lens more)

I also like manual lens... both native (x mount without adaptor) and other mount lens (using fujifilm x mount adaptor)

SLR Magic 23mm f1.7
7artisan 35 mm f1.2 (one of my fav lens now)
Kamlam 50mm f1.1 (another fav lens now)
Contax 90mm f2.8 (using adaptor)
