my 100% old plan got personal accident coverage. The new copay one don't have.
I double check already, government A pru copay plus don't have TCM for Pru.
The claim based pricing is really a gimmick, I recalled even when I go up 1 level the rider premium is already double the original price. If I am at level 3 it will take 2 years to go down to level 1.
I feel it is not worth it.
will leave it to the relevant party to advise on plan specific. but that's the idea

Is there any point in getting my own disability insurance if my current employer provides me group disability insurance at 80% of my basic salary? (Say, if I move on from this job..)

There seems to be advocacy for it in this forum.

but whether you think you require is what’s important.

have you thought about the pros and cons of getting?

Till 65 but Then how much coverage?
Premium paid total is almost the same. Is more of towards the older age might be difficult to upgrade with health conditions worsen

The shield supplement premiums remains the same.

But as your age increases, your core Careshield Life premium is increasing. So far we only know the premiums till 2025. Post 2025 how much will the premiums be?

From 2020 to 2025, premiums* and payouts will both increase by 2% per year. Beyond that, premium and payout adjustments will be recommended by an independent CareShield Life Council, in accordance with an actuarially sound adjustment framework. The Council will take into account the scheme’s claims experience and changes in life expectancy and disability trends when making their recommendations.

Are we talking about the same thing? Upgrade premium got 2 type. Leveled or increasing, if is level then same. And you are talking about careshield basic when u ask about upgrade?

I am saying Careshield Life AND CSL supplment as a whole. How can you look at CSL supplement as a standalone only?

You have Careshield Life (premiums increasing with age, and determined by council) and you are getting Careshield Life supplement (FIXED premium for rest of the life).

Off course from a FA prospectively, selling the CSL supplement as something as FIXED premium sounds really a good deal. But looking at CSL as a whole, it is CSL premium + CSL SUPPLEMENT premium. The premiums for both CSL will increase as one age. And the crux of the issue is - will the premium get increasingly more expensive as people age? (off course it gets more expensive, but how much?)

Look at your question ^
should i go for CSL supplement? Did i read it wrongly?
CSL basic, if u look at it increasing very high and not taking it up, then supplement we dont even need to talk about.
Maybe you want to call the council up and clarify with them?

There is an obvious breakdown in communication, as per my previous post.

Your earlier response to me mentioned - ask yourself why dont upgrade? My answer was - (on a big picture basis), dont upgrade because premiums will be hefty towards older years.

where you responded premium paid total for CSL supplement is same or a flat fee.

I understood your post and I added more information where my view is that CSL + CSL supplement in total will get pricey when one age (which is obviously should be as one gets older, more likely having issues with ADL.

my question goes back to - will CSL basic gets more pricey? And if I can call up the council - I would have already done so. Unfortunately the next best solution will be to look at the old Eldershield Premiums and see how they are priced and how much percentage increase YOY.

And also CSL basic is something we cannot even opt out of?

Yup you are right you cant opt out for that age group. Then now the next question is since you cant opt out, how the premium works, u cant do anything then what the purpose of finding out?

anyway eldershield basic is fix throughout

Hi,

for GE, we do not have standalone CI plan. Thus u need to decide to get a wholelife or term plan, which can add in both eci/ci. Next is to advise coverage amount and period to cover

for CSL supplement, is your choice to decide whether wanna get. Do note premium is not really fixed, it is subjected to change according to claim experience

cheers

Csl basic will get more pricey as we age, benefits will also increase YOY (government sets the increment)

old Eldershield basic premium is fixed FYI

and yes CSL basic is compulsory for all sg/pr

anyone still keeping mindef aviva insurance after ORD/ROD? it is still the cheapest right?

do you add rider like living care and living care plus? the way i see it is very expensive 55 years old onwards.

how is your GTL and GPA amount like? mine is 300k and 100k respectively. i choose 300k because mindef only pays first 250k and the rest is break into years and have to go through court.

what about GPA? worth to up to max 600k?

whether other keep or not should not impact your decision on keeping. because different people got different circumstances and objectives.

it is for sure "cheap" and might be the "cheapest". but is it all about being "cheap/cheapest" or is it about whether it really fits what you need in the most cost affordable way.

Do you know what are they for and why you need it in the first place and do you know why it gets more expensive as you grow older? That should be your qns instead.

Again do you know what are all those and how should you determine whether the right coverage is for you?

before jumping the gun, you should first understand what are they for and why do you need it first.

Hi guys, i have a newborn. Planning to get the following:

Life- AIA GUARANTEED PROTECT PLUS (III)
Personal Accident- Sompo PA Junior
Healthcare- AIA HealthShield Gold Max Special A with Rider: AIA Max VitalHealth

Any thoughts? Most of my family's insurance are with AIA as we have an agent that is responsive and good but open to changing if there are better policies out there.
