Getting to Flying Cow Ranch (飞牛牧场)

Jetting off to Taipei in Feb 2013 with my wife and 2 kids. One of the places we're keen to visit is Flying Cow Ranch (飞牛牧场) in Miaoli. Anyone has any idea if travelling by taxi all the way from Taipei to Miaoli is possible, and what's the cost? Any other alternatives?

If Flying Cow Ranch is out, are there any theme parks/leisure farms near Taipei where there're animals for kids to get close to?

It would be pretty expensive to take taxi all the way from Taipei to Flying Cow. A cheaper alternative is to take train to Tongsiao station in Miaoli then catch a taxi to Flying Cow Farm approx NTD220 20 min drive.

The nearest themeparks from Taipei are Leofoo in Taoyuan and WOC in Hsinchu. Can do as a day trip from Taipei.

Or the various flower farms in Taoyuan, eg Daxi (various flowers + animals + bee farm), Sun & Green (Sunflower). There are also flower farms in Yangminshan. But for flower farms, do check whether what flowers are in season.

I thought of
1. Taoyuan International Airport to Zhongli station by Taxi
2. Zhongli station to Tong Xiao station by train
3. Tong Xiao to Flying Cow Ranch by Taxi

Look like a long journey ... any good alternative?

Also need help to travel from

1. Flying Cow Ranch to Kee Lung City
2. Kee Lung City to Ximen @ Taipei City


Sorry ask many qns, first time free and easy trip to Taipei

Why not U-Bus from airport to Taoyuan Train Station, train from there to Tongxiao Station straight..Then from there take cab to destination?

Cab back to Tongxiao Station then train down to Taipei Main Station then train from here to Keelung Station..

There's only one direct train daily from Tongxiao Station to Keelung and it's at 10:07am..

From Keelung back to XMD, can always take train back to TMS..

Travelling time for bus going to Taoyuan TRA Station is about 50mins..Almost the same as travelling to TMS but probably cheaper. Let me find out the actual bus no and reply here later..

You staying at the ranch for the night?? If yes and wana avoid the hassle then yes, book the tickets..14 days in advance..

as per previous reply, I understand we can take Taiwan railway to flying cow. but I have the following qns

1) other than normal Taiwan railway, can I take the highspeed rail instead?
2) where to take the Taiwan railway at Taipei? Isit at the 台北车站？
